i bought a 2023 xl. Found leather seats on ebay. Already saved the forscan code excel file. Nice thing is they are powered seats so that is an upgrade. While i did not need or really want the heated seats its an added bonus.
My question is, has anyone added the heated controls to the sync 4 infotainment center to an XL and had the seat heat work? I could go aftermarket and itll work fine but spending the money on an aftermarket seat heater seems to defeat the purpose of buying power seats with the factory heater already installed.
Appreciate any help

Hey @cash31 money, attached is a picture of the truck side and seat wiring from heated seats. If you have all these pins, I would imagine heat will work with either or both HVAC controller or Sync Unreal screen (if enabled). I will PM you my HVAC ASBuilt which supported only heated seats to compare with yours.

BTW, I am working with @HammaMan to change my seats to cooled and heated so my HVAC controller with heated seat buttons will be available soon.

Depends what your seats are out of. IIRC there are 2 different seat heating systems. One is ran through the HVAC module (XLTs use this) and the other runs through the seat modules (Lariat and higher I believe).

I retrofitted an XLT HVAC module in my truck and installed OEM heating elements in my XL seats. All I had to do was make a wiring harness from the seat heaters to the HVAC module and do the forscan changes.

Can you share more on this? How complicated is this harness? I have lariat seats and looking to make the heat/ventilated feature work.

There is much more wiring involved with the Lariat seats as well as additional modules that have to be added. I didn't look into it much as I went the XLT route which is much simpler and only requires running a few wires, installing heating pads, and the XLT hvac module.
