my truck is just outside the recall date for getting the heated steering wheel. My truck was built in April of 2023 and the last build day on the memorandum is March 29, 2023. So I'm looking into adding it myself. How do I tell if I need a new wheel or if I just need the new clock spring, and HVAC controls and the rest will be plug and play?

I saw this one but my temperature readout isn't in the dial. it shows up on the screen for the info center. I need to find the a way to locate the parts I need and see if i need to replace the entire steering wheel or just add some stuff to it

So i looked through that thread and I went out and popped my airbag of. theirs nothing plugged into the blank plug on the steering wheel side to the steering wheel control module. How do i tell if i have the heating element in the wheel? Do I need to get an all new steering wheel? so the thread is 80+ pages long so i may have not gotten all the info I needed to find.

So far i have
  1. I found the HVAC module on eBay
  2. I already have forscan.
  3. I saw the harness I need (how do i order that from you?)
  4. I also found a number of used steering wheel control modules on eBay.

OEM Heated Steering Wheel: ML3Z-3600-RA or equivalent after market wheel.
OEM Steering Column Control Module (SCCM): ML3Z-3F791-BB
OEM replacement steering wheel bolt (new, never installed): W721079-S437
Harness - I'll send a PM

In the front steering wheel picture - if you have the brown plug it's heated.

On the SSCM - there should be pins on the front and backside if you have a heated clockspring.

Good video to watch also

Did the HSW and the HVAC swap, now the A/C turns on everytime I start the truck. Any suggestions? I also have the Lariat dual digital HVAC for sale too.

Sounds like you didn't use forscan to backup your orginal hvac module. If not, reinstall the old 1. Then back it up and install the new 1 and load the backup config to the new unit.

Like many of you, I'm sure, I have read so many pages in this forum, about adding a heated steering wheel to my '23 F-150, my head is spinning! Has anybody in here successfully added a HSW to an XLT 302A? I was hoping to find a parts list of what is needed and be able to do it with plug and play parts. Is there an OE wire harness that I can use? I do not have auto wipers, adjustable steering column or adaptive cruise control. I believe I have some P/N's, PL3Z-3F791-AB Steering Column Module and PL3Z-3600-PA Steering wheel with standard cruise control. So I guess what I need is the column wire harness and clock spring. I think I can figure out the HVAC control module that best suits my needs from the Ford parts website. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
