I am still prepping and getting all of my parts, but does anyone have any instructions or write ups on how to do add these heated seats? Is there a repair manual on removing and replacing heated seat pads?

Well the more I’m looking into the center console wiring, the more convinced I am that my truck MAY have come with the WPT-1687 pigtail built into it. Obviously I won’t know without digging into it, but the ford parts site doesn’t differentiate between heated rear seats and non heated rear seats (on the Lariat specifically) for the 14A318 wiring harness in the center console

EDIT: spoke too soon, it does differentiate... Either way I'll probably open up the center console and see what I can find

I just looked and verified that my 501A truck does not have the wiring/pigtail required to plug into the switch in the center console. Unfortunately that particular part is on national back order with no return to stock date. I think my best bet is to buy a complete center console harness that has the plug in it (WPT-1687).

however my kids are still in car/booster seats for probably another year or two so I may just hold off for now. BUT if anyone has any leads, let me know please.

Has anyone removed the center console? Are there any tips or tricks to know? I plan to pull it out today and replace the harness in it to get the rear heated seat connector and WACM. I already purchased a harness from ford parts that has all of the proper connectors

Removal of the center console was much easier than I anticipated. I had the ford service manuals and it’s really simple. I was able to run the new wiring harness for the WACM and rear heated seats. The hardest part was getting the cigarette lighter out of its socket and into the new one.

I’m going to be tackling the installation of the heated seat pads one at a time most likely.

I’m thinking about doing this as well. If I remember correctly I also have that grey connector in the back. Which is interesting as I have an XLT. I’m thinking about having some katzkin leather installed and thought this would be a perfect time to put the heating pads in the back at least so they are there. I wonder if there is any difference in the foam pads for heated seats vs non heated?

Watching some videos of taking the seat covers off, it seems a little bit daunting due to the hook and arrow configuration. Any have tips, tricks, or tools that should be used to do this?

I'm in the process of adding rear heated seats, can anyone with rear heated seats provide pics of how the wiring is routed? @Jesse-Infotainment (or anyone else, as far as I know he is the only one that has done this though).

Sorry, that was vague, I meant for the actual wiring of the pads themselves. I have a diagram, but there are some christmas tree connectors that I'm not sure where they go. I already replaced the entire wiring harness in the center console just to get the rear seat switch wiring, and I just got done with the back pad for the passenger side seat, 3 more pads to install

Gotcha, I’m absolutely mind f***ed by this lol. I’m usually pretty good with this stuff.

Do you recall if you ran the connector through the lower seat pad? The upper seat was pretty intuitive, but this lower passenger seats has me all messed up
