Has anyone bothered with trying to replicate the “Assist” functionality with what I assume is some BLISS sensors up front?
Those radars are only used in the active feature for the lane change and auto lane bias. No utility in the assist 2.0 by adding them.

If the system properly utilized the mirror cameras, there'd be no use for the front sensors as their azimuth and beam width provides very marginal utility to the system. They're the same radars BLIS uses but unlike bliss's 45 degree angle between the side and rear, the front BLIS sensors are basically -10 degrees from the side with almost no forward visibility (They're essentially pointing at 280 degrees and 80 degrees respectively, whereas the BLIS radars point at 225 degrees and 135 degrees). If the mirror cameras were used the lane centering would be unrivaled in its ability to track the center with lines present.

The front radar and camera are used for most of the prevention aspects. There'd be more there if they could use it to prevent blind pull-outs, kind of like the rear cross traffic alert. They don't have the range to detect a cross-traffic red light runner for instance.

Super interesting to know. Thanks!

Update: everything installed and forscan changes made in 3 hours by myself. Calibrated ccm and working great. Only had to drive about 2 miles before cal was done. Pulled over, closed out forscan, disconnected the opd2 port and restarted truck and acc was working flawless. Stop

and go works, lane centering works (even on this 25 mph wind at my side day). Hopefully one day someone can figure out how to get iacc working properly in a non nav truck, but until then im tickled pink to have this all installed and no airbag deployment ?

Hi everyone, I've been trying to read through this thread to determine if doing this upgrade is possible with my truck.

I have a 101A. Has anyone gone through the upgrade and recorded the parts and steps required? I'm new to this, but I'm good at following directions...

The reason I'm asking is because I'm interested in getting Comma 3x working with my truck which would require ACC and Lane Centering.

Thanks in advance!

I am in the same boat as you, 101A. My 2021 XL 101A was optioned with Copilot 2.0. I don't see that your truck was optioned with any Copilot setup. What year is your truck ? Some year got Copilot 2.0 as standard equipment, maybe 2023?

Copilot Assist 2.0 is what this thread refers to retrofitting and what is needed to run the Comma 3x and their ACC and Lane Centering setup.

Copilot360 Active 2.0 is for BlueCruise.

So the option order from basic to full suite is:

1. Copilot2.0
2. Copilot 2.0 Assist
3. Copilot 2.0 Active

Here is list of Copilot 2.0 features:

Also, page 58 of this thread has good info about XLs.

I have a 2022 XL 101A. I don't think the 22' year came with Copilot 2.0 equipment standard - I don't have BLIS w/ Cross-Traffic Alert or Auto High Beams. I think I have everything else there.

From the thread, I've gathered that I need to get the following parts, but I know I'm missing some things.
ML3Z-9C888-DA (steering wheel switch) -- optional
ML3Z-9E731-G (sensor assembly)
W720714S450B (mounting bolt x 3)
DU2Z-14474-BA (CCM terminal kit)
Custom wiring harness -- I'll need guidance on how to make this and route the wiring

Do I need any specialized hand tools for the wiring? It sounds like this will take several hours.

After that, it looks like I can cross-reference @superfordman 's spreadsheet and a similar as-built configurations...

Am I on the right track?

From my seat, yes. But I will let others confirm.

You won't need the bumper harness. You could just run the four wires from the driver side Ipma through the firewall along the driver side of the engine and then down to the CCM once you mount it.

Do you have lane keep assist? That is pretty much the foundation that everything here builds on. Without it you are probably SOL. Do you have the button on your steering wheel or is it just blank spot?

From the 2022 F-150 order guide, this standard equipment on all models, XL and up:

FORD CO-PILOT360™ TECHNOLOGY
● Autolamp – Auto On/Off Headlamps
● Auto High Beams
● Lane-Keeping System
● Post-Collision Braking
● Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
(AEB) (Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning,
Dynamic Brake Support)
● Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist

So you have this for sure.

XLT standard equipment is Copilot360 Assist 2.0 with the following features:

FORD CO-PILOT360™ TECHNOLOGY
● Ford Co-Pilot360™ 2.0
● Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
(AEB)1
— Pedestrian Detection
— Forward Collision Warning
— Dynamic Brake Support
● BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert
● Lane-Keeping System
— Lane-Keeping Alert
— Lane-Keeping Aid
— Driver Alert
● Rear View Camera1
● Auto High Beams1
● Reverse Brake Assist
● Reverse Sensing System
● Post-Collision Braking

Big difference here is inclusion of BLIS

I've tried to consolidate all the documentation and parts that have been shared throughout this thread, here.

Looks like I will need:
1. Steering wheel switch (optional)
2. CCM sensor assembly
3. Mounting bolt (3x)
4. CCM terminal kit
4. CCM connector

Aside from that, do I need a crimper or heat gun for the wiring? I have a Klein wire stripper for DIY home electrical work.

Do these install steps look right?
1. Remove bumper
2. Mount CCM sensor assembly (parts: CCM sensor assembly, mounting bolt)
3. ??? Route wiring from IPMA to CCM, and plug it in ???
4. Put bumper back
5. FORScan ACC Add Changes (thx @superfordman)

I am about to be in a similar boat as you... Looking at getting a f150 xl. I am trying to get caught up in this thread on all the parts needed to retrofit a 2021 xl reg cab. Will I need to make a custom wiring harness as well? is it different than the ML3Z-15K867-NA

From the responses I received, no. We can wire directly from the IPMA to the CCM with the terminal kit and CCM connector. See my post 941.

You will need to make a custom wiring harness if you plan to add 360cam and the parking sensors yourself. Someone else can confirm.

I requested access to your Drive via the link.

I agree about 360 cams and parking sensors needing their own harnesses. If you are adding them too, my opinion is to use the OEM bumper harness and just add the wires from the cab controllers to that bumper harness starting point. Unless you really like making harnesses...

Keep in mind that 2 of the 4 wires in the new CCM harness you need to build are Can-bus (Can high and Can low). Those two wires need twisted together to communicate properly. The other two wires are power and ground, no special requirements.

I opened access to everyone. Let me know if you can't see it.

Good point. I don't know how to make a harness... Buying the harness might make sense so I can add 360cam or parking sensors later. Right?
