Hi all, adding front & rear Infinity Kappas. Fronts are components and came with a crossover unit. Anyone have experience wiring this up and if it’s needed?
Also adding a wavtech 500.4 mini. Have all the recommended wiring harnesses to tie into the factory wiring.
Thanks.

With a four channel amp and six speakers you will definitely need the crossovers. Where are you mounting the amp?

Amp will be behind the rear seat.

I originally replaced my speakers with Infinity Ref. I later added a Kicker Key 200.4 amp and small sub. Everything went behind rear seat. There are several Forscan settings you will want to make. You should be able to find details in other threads.

Assuming you are using something like a PAC harness for the signal. Mount your crossover next to amp so you can easily run short length of wires to the crossover. I used a Metra harness for front and rear door speakers which allows you to use OEM wiring. I've since upgraded but the Metra speaker mounts are the easiest thing to do. If you want to upgrade a bit, I would treat the area around and behind the speakers with some CLD for basic resonance control. You will have to run new wiring from the crossover for tweeters and disconnect OEM. (16ga would be fine). I haven't looked at Kappa specs so not sure how they will fit in the stock location. Do you have the standard cross firing location or B&O A pillars? My Morel tweeters actually fit perfectly in the FORD tweeter mounts but there are lots of different ways to mount. I have pictures if you need them. I would recommend a trim panel tool to help you take the panels off down each side for wiring. There are several really good videos on Youtube showing you how to get A pillars and trim pieces off.

Thanks, I do not have B&O. I have a few mounts that came w the tweeter and also back straps from crutchfield as a back up.
I have the Metra harnesses as well and the T- harness.
Was hoping this would be more plug and play.

Yeah there is a learning curve. Also you will have to run the power wire which can be a challenge the first time out of the gate. Use the grounding point behind the rear seat for ground wire. I would get the T spec or Stinger speed wire to run from the harness behind the radio to your amp then wire back to radio. Don't forget to run a remote power wire off a fuse if that is what your amp requires to power on.

Should be nice upgrade. No Forscan changes needed.
