Adaptive Head Lights - Coming to the US???

@ROBB1 Ever since I made the change a few weeks ago, thanks to you, the Glare Free has been working great. I have the right menu in Sync, and the lights are working as they are supposed to. The only issue is I still have the white Auto High icon in the IPC, not the green. obviously Sync has been rebooted a bunch of times, and I have turned the setting off and back on. The white icon returns ever time? Thoughts?

Double check your changes in the IPC and ensure both were written correctly. That’s is what directly effects the indicator color.

Similarly, is the blue high beam indicator supposed to come on when glare free is running? I have the green auto light indicator, but the blue high beam indicator only comes on when I manually turn on the high beams.

The glare free seems to be working though, and it's been awesome so far.

@BMWtoF150 is correct. That is normal operation, you should only see the blue indicator when manually activated.

Hey @ROBB1 i did the changes last night I see the menu option changed. On two startups I’ve got the check headlights deal. I’ll double check my entries here soon. Should I post up my lineup? I have a 2021 Raptor.

Correct change that to D1 in 734-01-04 and that will get rid of your startup error.

Early work done on this by @tonesto7 resulted in you having to specify driving side (right or left). I have all the OTA updates (2.4.1) and I did the changes and all works as I expected... except I didn't have an option to chose right or left.

Did the side choice go away with a OTA update or have I miscoded one of the changes?

That particular menu seems to be associated with the early software versions / a separate APIM line. It is also not implemented on the factory glare free vehicles (Canada). It can cause a check headlamp error and offers no real value in my testing so it is excluded. My recommendations match what you will see factory on a Canadian vehicle delivered with glare free.

As good a place as any, maybe, to drop this info in. Looks like this might not work on trucks produced later this year. From the latest Canadian order guide.

Does anyone know the physical way the lights work to keep the light off the other car? Someone said their light calibrate not only left to right, but up and down when they turn the car on. So maybe they are dropping the up and down motion, keeping the side-to-side since they don't mention dropping the "Dynamic Bending Headlamps".

I can't imagine they are just dropping the software control for this.

I guess we will tackle it when they hit the street and see whats what. I’m with you though, sound like they are taking a piece of hardware out.

Edit to add: the up down is also used for leveling. My guess (completely in the dark) no projector LED or they removed the HCM module to save chips.
