Thank you for your post. It is almost perfect. I used that for my settings. It nearly worked as supposed to do. It does the start up dance (leveling and aiming) which is mandatory in EU otherwise you have to get an exception for to pass your vehicle at testing (unlike in US). There is one thing though, the lights, since are set to be Glare-free (Matrix, Adaptive, Smart etc. every manufacturer has a different technology and name for it) but most importantly they are not supposed to be set for left or right driving. (unlike before when we had to change the physical headlamps importing car from UK). The low beam should be horizontally flat. Straight line if you wish and the high beam nearly always on (except slow driving or light up streets) and they should do the cutting out for approaching or in front going traffic. Therefore to have the feature working properly in my experience I had to set additional values.

Disable "Adaptive headlight Traffic" (option for Left/Right driving) in APIM and IPC (some vehicles have it disabled already) This can be done directly in Module config, but most importantly to change
IPMA 706-04-01 xxxx **xx xx to 00.
That cancels the setting for Left or Right hand traffic. My lights are now doing a proper cut-out whereas before were just ramping instead. No faulty messages. All is perfect. Please try and share your experience.

The line you quoted sets the steering wheel location in the IPMA. All US and Canadian vehicles should already be set to “0” lefthand drive. I can confirm my lights have preformed the proper cutouts after the making the changes I listed in the original post.

Is your truck right hand drive?

Hey @ROBB1

forgive me if this is a stupid question, I'm fairly new to all of this, but why is

7D0-09-03 xx*x set to C and not 8 (adaptive vs glare free)
724-04-01 xxx* set to 4 and not 3 (same)
720-10-01 xxxx xxx* set to 3 and not 2 (same)

whereas
706-01-01 xxxx xxx* is set to 9 (glare free), the seemingly odd one out

Info was pulled from the forscan google sheet

I'm just trying to understand the difference in options and how to read the forscan google doc

Not a stupid question at all. All of the as-built information on the spreadsheet is not specific to one vehicle, Fords software can be applied to many different vehicles, the as-built configures settings and features for that specific vehicle / hardware configuration. Not everything you see in the spreadsheet is applicable.

Glare Free is a sub function of Adaptive Driving Beams which is why you are seeing ADB selected in the majority of the modules. This is effectively “all features / capability activated“. There is most likely a different Ford vehicle that has a less functional headlight assembly capable of glare free, but not full ADB and that is why you see those different options on the spreadsheet.
706-01-01 is GFHB_ADB combined as well. For the IPMA the outputs are likely the same ether way, so there are only three choices: Disabled, Auto High Beams (AHBC), or Glare Free / ADB.

The full function ADB / Glare free is active on Canadian trucks from the factory, so these changes are the same as you would see factory on those trucks.

Ji ROBB1, no, my truck is left hand drive like yours but had an option in APIM to choose the traffic side. And interestingly enough I have checked a few Canadian trucks and one had 706-04-01 xxxx 1000 setting. Have ho idea what was that supposed to be. Mine had 0800. Don't know what the following hex means either. In the spreadsheet says unused but who knows if really is...

I made the changes and enabled the Glare Free in the menu option but can't seem to get it to work, even on a dark road with no other traffic the auto high beams don't turn on now. Does anyone know the conditions the glare free is supposed to work in? The Green High beams icon is on the instrument cluster with the 'A' in the middle as well.

This is on a 21 Platinum if that matters.

Basically greater than ~35 mph to activate and lighting conditions that camera determines could benefit from high beams. Dark road should trigger it every time.

My first suggestion would be to double check all of the changes and make sure they wrote into the module.

Cycle the APIM glare free toggle off then back on if not already done. I have noticed on occasion that new menus don’t always work correctly until they are cycled once.

No headlight warnings on startup correct?

No warnings on startup.

Ill check as my changes and post just to confirm and I'll try doing a reset of the APIM in Forscan and cycle the option in the menu as well.

The speed thing may have been the issue, it was a side road that I wasn't going too fast down. No street lights but there were a lot of road markers / reflectors it might have thought were cars or something.

I haven’t really seen any issues with reflective signs, but the trigger speed is important. Once they trigger they will stay on down to 15 mph or so, but you have to hit that initial 35 first.

Oh man...now I really wish I would've coughed up the extra $ for the projector LED lights instead of just the standard LED! I enabled this on my BMW and have to say it works great, if I would've known...well, then I would've spent even more money so maybe best I'm finding this now ?

@ROBB1 Ever since I made the change a few weeks ago, thanks to you, the Glare Free has been working great. I have the right menu in Sync, and the lights are working as they are supposed to. The only issue is I still have the white Auto High icon in the IPC, not the green. obviously Sync has been rebooted a bunch of times, and I have turned the setting off and back on. The white icon returns ever time? Thoughts?

Similarly, is the blue high beam indicator supposed to come on when glare free is running? I have the green auto light indicator, but the blue high beam indicator only comes on when I manually turn on the high beams.

The glare free seems to be working though, and it's been awesome so far.

The blue high beam indicator only comes on if you manually switch on the high beams.
