Just FYI, I don’t know if anyone answered your question, but you don’t need “adaptive” or “active steering”. I have a 502 with all the lane entering/active cruise etc. but the adaptive steering is a whole different option.

Thanks, it seems that adaptive steering and active steering are used interchangeably, but I wasn’t aware of that initially, I thought one was the changing steering ratio and the other was the lane keep assist. But it turns out they’re both used to mean changing steering ratio (at least that’s what I understand)

I did get my steering wheel yesterday, I thought for $160 I would be getting a bare wheel, but it had all of the controls built into it too, which is an even better deal. I just have to reuse my airbag, which is expected. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to ship explosives haha.

I bought the RH projector headlamp yesterday, so I only need the conversion harness to do the headlamp install. I have quite a pile of parts building up. I've purchased everythimg for the heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, except one pigtail (it is on national back order, so I am going to dig into the truck to see if that connector happens to already be there.

Unfortunately it'll be a few weeks before I can do any of the install work because I am recovering from bicep reattachment surgery from two days ago

I went ahead and purchased the conversion harness to since it takes 5-7 weeks to be made and delivered. All in, I am at $1544 for projector LEDs: two headlamps, HCM, and conversion harness (I got 5% off of the harness). Even though I bought the headlamps used on eBay they are like new. I didn't buy headlamps with broken tabs or scratched lenses. I feel like I did REALLY good with the bargain hunting on these and still got "like new" parts.

If anyone is interested, I'll let you know the seller I bought them from. I do not know this person, but they seem to have quite a bit of stuff for sale on eBay that is in good condition.

Do you happen to know if the parts listed for the heated steering wheel will work if added to an XLT and the proper values are changed in FORScan?

I believe so, though @Jesse-Infotainment would be the person to confirm this. According to this post, it appears the heated steering wheel is only controlled by the SCCM and the BCM.

Read through that entire linked thread, It should tell you more or less everything you need to know. It is what I have been using to plan everything out

I just looked and verified that my 501A truck does not have the wiring/pigtail required to plug into the switch in the center console. Unfortunately that particular part is on national back order with no return to stock date. I think my best bet is to buy a complete center console harness that has the plug in it (WPT-1687).

however my kids are still in car/booster seats for probably another year or two so I may just hold off for now. BUT if anyone has any leads, let me know please.

EDIT: it appears the WPT-1687 is back in stock but the price has literally quadrupled

Just purchased a WACM and floor console harness. I didn’t really need the WACM but I’ll probably install it anyways, even though I haven’t heard much good about it, it does come as part of the 502A package, and I wanna make it as complete as possible.

The MAIN reason I bought it was for the floor console harness. This has the pigtail needed to power the rear heated seats built into it. The pigtail is $157 now (previously was only $40 before there was a national back order) and I paid $211 with taxes for the harness and the WACM. So I figured it was probably the best way to go for now

Just surfing this thread I noticed ...
Is there any way to access a FULL build sheet? Or does that cost money?
Not sure if it's what you're looking for but FYI attached is an example of the complete OASIS "Build Information" for my F150.

I got this with a $22 / 72-hour subscription to the service manuals for my truck at https://www.motorcraftservice.com/

A willing dealer can access and print that info from OASIS.

Yes, that's using Ford's cryptic codes and limited descriptions; I don't think you'll find anything in the way of a complete build sheet that's presented in 'layman's terms'.

Two things to say here:

1) I had access to OASIS when I worked for Ford at KTP and completely forgot about that, so thanks for the reminder

2) the other day I tried to purchase a 72 hour subscription (for the shop manuals) and it kept failing. I realized once I turned off my VPN it worked just fine. But the problem was: I redid the process and didn’t realize I added the one year subscription instead of the 3 days subscription. I immediately opened it and started looking and didn’t realize my faux pas until my bank texted me 3 minutes later asking if I spent $2800. I requested a refund from Ford but they said since its been opened it is considered used and unable to be refunded, so I am battling with them and will probably just do a charge back on my CC.

that second but isn’t really relevant, more of a sad/funny anecdote

Well I'm an idiot, I didn't notice that my truck already has rain sensing wipers ?‍♂

It appeared to me based off of the B&P that it only came on 502A and up. My fault for not doing the full research

There's nothing on my window sticker that would've suggested I had it either. I only found out by finding it in the truck.

Is there any way to access a FULL build sheet? Or does that cost money?
I happened to stumble across a tidbit of info today while looking at the 2022 and 2023 build sheets. Rain sensing wipers come with CP Assist. So it is not standard on the 501A but is on the 502A, BUT it is part of the Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 Package, which my truck has

Been a while since I updated this thread. Finally able to really use my left arm again after getting my bicep reattached 6.5 weeks ago.

Today I did a lot of little things to the truck:

Installed new HVAC module that had temp readout.

Installed HCM and ran the interior harness for it for the headlamp upgrade to the BCM.

Ran the headlamp harness from the engine bay to the BCM. I didn’t tie either into the BCM yet because I didn’t want it to start setting off any system errors since I don’t have my projectors installed yet (my dumbass bought one tremor headlamp and one chrome one, so I’m waiting to get my other chrome one, already purchased just waiting to receive).

Installed LED license plate lights

Installed 2021 cup holder in the rear of the center console (this one has the spring retainers in it)

Removed the half mud flaps and just put the little guards on there

Added global window open and close (idk why all vehicles don’t come from the factory with this)

Enabled unreal theme with climate bar, on the fence about the new layout.

I didn’t get to the heated steering wheel yet. I’ve already put about 5-6 hour in on the truck today and I had a scare with the repaired bicep too.

I still have the heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and I have a WACM I’m debating on installing as well as finishing the headlamps.

Damn that’s gotta be a good feeling knocking all that out, especially after patiently waiting to heal up. Not sure I would have had that kind of self-control. The doctor’s recommendations would have been out the window if I had all of those parts lying around. Can’t wait to see how your lights turn out. Keep us updated. And I have been looking for those rear cup holders. Did you buy them new or did you find them used? I think I have the part number but would you mind posting it?

I actually bought from @BarryT82 he had a center console that had the cup holders in it.

I did try to do the install about 3-4 weeks ago, but my left arm wasn't having it. I couldn't pull the trim off of the touch screen because my hand and arm were too weak. I didn't reinjure it, but I could tell I was going to if I manhandled everything the way I needed to.

I did have a small scare, I had a large pop, but it felt more like two bones sliding around in a way they shouldn't (but not like I popped the tendon again). I think my muscles are still weak and can't hold my skeleton together appropriately haha

Also, this is the part number I was searching, but I think that includes all of the trim as well and was listed for over $100. I cannot find that part anywhere now

Did some more work today prepping for the HSW and LED projectors. I pinned the BCM connectors (took my big ass 90 mins to just do those 3 wires) and the I changed the SCCM and steering wheel, for everything buttoned back up and the left side steering wheel controls didn’t work. So I changed the SCCM back to the stock one only to find out my dumbass forgot to do FORScan changes to the SCCM ?. But I ran out of time, I’ll change the SCCM AND update it tomorrow.

I have another tremor LED projector coming this week so I can get the headlamps changed.

Then my last upgrade (still not really planning to do the powered telescoping/tilt steering wheel) will be the rear heated seats. I bought the center console wiring harness that has the rear heated seat connector and the WACM connector in it and will likely tackle that first
