I would reference the Livernois tune gains on 93 as the ceiling for what the FP tune could offer.
Assume they are the usual, erring on the side of caution.

That said, even with the Livenrois tune, it's not like I was floored with the power increase, noticeable, but not blown away.

The transmission sequential shifting is much better and CD being gone made me happy.

The most notable improvement was when I installed a throttle controller on the 5.0.
Did Livernoise tune not remap the throttle response?

It claims to have.
When I pull off my throttle controller, I don't notice much in terms of improvement over stock.
So, I am sure it does as it claims to do so, but nothing of substance.

A banks pedal monster is so worth it.

Throttle controller?
Looks up Pedal Commander or Banks Pedal Monster.

No tune, it just plugs in to your throttle position connection on the pedal.

Takes the sloppy, unresponsive throttle they've set on the 5.0 and set it to your preference.

Many settings, drastically changes the drivability.

I've moved off the Pedal Commander, was great for 2 years, now it's giving me issues, which happens to be common with that brand.

So, the gas pedal.

Now Larry, come on. You're just being difficult now, lol

As you know, these are drive by wire throttles. All electronics, no cables. The Banks Pedal Monster (way better than the competitor, imo) allows you to dial in the throttle response via the OBD port. From stock, to sporty "City" mode, to all out "Race" mode. Each mode has it's own tuneable mapping, except for stock. And by going through the OBD port, it allows the function to be disengaged automatically in reverse.

It's is a completely different engine with those installed. And only takes minutes.

I think a CIA+programmer+cat back would be a fun package to add.
I'm sorry, but the CIA isn't allowed to operate domestically; you'll have to settle for the NSA.

The good news is that they don't charge you for "backing up" your data. The bad news is that when you need the backup, you have to file a FOIA request.

Thanks for the info. I was really hoping the tuners made it the same as

Do you have to always have your phone connected for it to work or does it save your settings you want?

Nope, settings get saved. You only really need to open the app when you want to change the tune, but I pop in every other day or so to make sure it's all good. Infrequently it will lose connection and revert to stock mode. You'll notice that immediately. Their competitor seems to mess up all throttle response if it craps out. At least with Banks, you don't get stuck.

And to head off this question...your mpg WILL suffer ?

The Banks Pedal Monster sounds interesting but why not just put the truck in sport mode which does increases throttle response. Sport mode does make the transmission shift sequentially but it can also rev a bit high at times too unless you learn to back off on the throttle in the right situations and then ease into it.

Sport mode is NOT the same as a throttle controller. I'm not fan of the increase revving or holding the revs too long when it's not needed. The throttle controller gives you much better control of the vehicle when you're not stringing out the RPMs. Everyday driving, even putting around town, is way more enjoyable, and feels the way it should from this engine. While I like Sport mode, it's not an everyday driving mode, at least not for me. And the Pedal Monster is fully adjustable, Sport mode isn't. Put in as much pedal boost, or as little as you want in each mode. I wish I was closer to some of you, I'd let you experience it firsthand.

Fact is, they neutered this engine via the throttle pedal. It's a ridiculous attempt to eek out a few more MPG and probably save the rear tires, but it utterly destroys the dynamics of this brilliant engine. This is why those turbo fellas give us a bum rap. The 5.0L RAGES with the proper pedal dynamics.

I did not know that, but any person on earth calls it a gas pedal.
