5.0L F-150 getting Ford Performance Calibration Tune

The extra low end it would offer would be welcome, I don’t disagree though. The 5.0 will dust most traffic in highway passing.

I’m on 35s and 4.11s so “stockish” overall gearing. I light the tires up accidentally all the time. As soon as they start to spin I get out of the throttle …. But I still want the SC.

I’m betting there’s some differences between the Gen 3 tune and Gen 4 tune they’re ironing out, that’s why the Rangers is out already and the 5.0s is not.

I would be very surprised if they don’t release since the revenue is basically all gravy for tunes, especially tunes that don’t come with a programmer and the client is paying for the install.

But as @JExpedition07 pointed out, production decisions at Ford don’t always make sense.

Again, Id pay almost that in just a CD turn off and Transmission fix......want good, solid shifts, no skipping, and not too harsh. Do that, take CD off and Stop/start...SOLD!

The whipple trucks have their own tune and they turn off cylinder deactivation.

On my 2017 GMC 5.0 the dash indicator switched from V8 to V4. I’ve seen nothing like that on my 2024 XLT 5.0. So I’m guessing I don’t have it?? Not listed on the window sticker.

There are no indicators for when cylinders deactivate in the F150s

@Racerdave. Oh you have it. They probably don't list it because who wants their V8 to run as a V4? It doesn't bother me yet while I am on the stock exhaust. But everyone says they hear it more in action with aftermarket exhaust installed....great something to look forward to!

I think it’s been pretty well documented Tow/Haul or sport mode deactivate it. Obviously a tune would too.

Honestly, it's not as horrible as people make it out to be, imo. Did I wish I didn't have it? Sure. Would I avoid a 5.0L because of it? Hellz no!
