Ford F-150 360 Camera Calibration with Forscan 1710001647864

Did the side mirrors get any more aligned when you were done? I ask because I calibrated mine a few times last year (replaced IPMA) and they were/are still a bit off; I just accepted it as good enough. If there is opportunity for improvement, I may run it again in different conditions.

EDIT: I realized the picture is likely the "after" picture; it may just be the best possible.

I was thinking we may need to use FDRS to do the 360 calibation.

That was the best I could get it on my truck. That pic was after I ran the calibration. It’s still pretty dang close.

ended up getting this resolved thanks to jesse's help. had to reset learned values on ipma, and then redo alignment procedures. dtc gone. woot.

^it's one of the buttons under ipma. click around in the widgets and you should see the one that says something about forgetting learned values. if you have a screenshot, or have fdrs handy, i can tell you which one to run...i just dont have a current license. feel free to pm me.

Thanks Steve. Ahh, is this only available in FDRS or should it be doable in Forscan? I haven't ventured into FDRS yet. Sounds like that might be in my future...

I'm about to upgrade my fully loaded but manual fold XLT mirrors to power fold ones from a Lariat with all the same options. I ran into a reference early on about camera calibration needing to be done afterwards , but put off looking into it until now.

Reading about the difficulties getting the calibration correct gives me pause, because I REALLY need the 360⁰ cameras to work very accurately to get my truck into my garage - I literally have 3"-4" all around my truck's perimeter to make it work, and as it stands, I have to manually fold in the driver's side mirror at one critical point.

With more clearance, i.e. with the mirrors both folded in, I can have more wiggle room and just use the tapeline on my garage floor with the backup camera and come out OK.

I wanted to know if it would do any good in avoiding re-calibration issues if I just swapped the mirror/puddle light plates from the bottom of the original mirrors with the corresponding plate in the power fold/replacement ones. These pieces are removable as a unit without removing the camera or puddle.

Anyone tried this or have an opinion?

no wonder why my dealership won’t do this bs for me.. ?‍♂?‍♂
My dealership tried to get out of it. Said the tow mirrors didn't come with my truck. It's currently on week 2 of repairs. Oh... It's a 24' with 1k miles and just made the 1st payment. I called the dealership manager. It's getting done for less than $400

They told me forscan sucks for the 360 cams.... Under 400 bones... Sold

Update: So I did mirror swaps with the new power fold mirrors I bought from a Lariat owner who added towing mirrors and swapped out the bottom of the mirror plates that contain the camera and puddle lights with the ones from my factory XLT mirrors. Everything came back precisely as it was, no calibration required to get 360⁰ cameras, etc. working. If you have the option to do this, it seems to eliminate the issues that have been identified throughout this thread.

No, everything on the display looks exactly as it did when it came from the dealership. All camera options, forward and backup lines, 360⁰ views, all as they were - which makes sense since the original cameras are in the new mirrors, so as far as the software involved is concerned nothing has changed.

No FORscan involvement whatsoever, though I have yet to enable the mirrors' power folding capabilities; I just did the camera and puddle light swaps, reassembled both sets, and reattached the new mirrors onto my truck. These 'new' mirrors now have caps painted to match my truck and contain my previous camera/puddle light plates inside them, but as yet don't power fold.

Once I build and install a 2 wire harness in each door to supply power to the new driver door window/mirror switch with the fold button, and apply the appropriate FORscan changes, ? everything will work and the cameras still will be calibrated correctly.

That's good. I added tow mirrors on my 24' and I thought all was good until I backed into a parking spot at work. Currently at dealership for some other issues, but they are going to calibrate the 360. The parking lines on mine move and are blurry now when parking. Didn't notice for a week. Wasn't until I backed in with yellow lines.
