my truck says 25.9 mpg,131.5 total, 46.5 electric. So 131 minus 46 equals 85 gas miles. I filled up today and it took 5 gallons which would give me 17 mpg. I drive in eco and go the speed limit much dismay to everyone behind me. What am I missing thanks in advance

Do you use remote start on your truck and let it warm up before driving? How about the ProPower? Both of those would use gas without dropping your MPG.
Others have posted a way to adjust the MPG calculations to be closer to real world experience.

Hi I do not warm it up and I 0nly have the 2,4 k which I have never used. I drive this like an old man because I am. I had noticed this before on other fill ups but finally wanted to ask if this is happening to others? does not make sense to me, also if this is not accurate are my total miles??? this is not even close to what they claim 24 mpg unless I am doing something wrong

First to know is mpg is for total miles: 131 / 5 = 26 mpg (or close to the calculated). That meets or beats the EPA stated MPGs by approximately 2 MPGs.
The "gas" miles is not the correct way to think about it, the added weight of the battery and other equipment would give a lower "gas" milage versus a regular not hybrid 3.5L. then add the fact that it also has to charge the battery during "hybrid " or "gas" driving. You are getting good MPGs overall, my guess is you drive on roads that are 55mph or slower, limited hills, and you as you state: drive like an old man.

My PB gets 24 ish, but I drive fewer 55 or less roads, live in a hilly area, but don't drive it like I stole it. My electric miles are approximately 20% of total mileage, you have about 35%, so you are getting a close approximation in stated MPGs, slightly better even.

The MPG is calculated by total mileage (Electric only + gas) So 131 mi/5.09 gal = 25.7 mpg.

The 3.5L engine does run at about 18-19 mpg so the 17 MPG for 85 miles where your gas engine was running sounds about right.

Your (hybrid) truck is performing beautifully. Better than spec, in fact.

What made you think it should be split like that?

And remember "gas miles" are hybrid miles. The traction motor is constantly assisting the ICE for those miles labeled as "gas". Electric miles are only recorded when the ICE is off.

When I shut the truck off it gives a total mpg of around 28.8 I should have included that picture also. the regular 3.5 eco is rated 17 city 25 highway 20 mpg average if that is the case this truck should at least do that

And you are exceeding that, handily.

Your calculations are incorrect, you need to use total miles.... Do not subtract anything, just total miles divided gallons filled ... 131.5/ 5.059 = 25.9932793042... that is the "real" math and real MPG calculations, you beat the rating and easily beat the 3.5 eco boost. They get around 20 combined you are 26 (you beat them by around 4 MPGs).
