Did the 2024 XLT headlights take a step backwards compared to the 21-23 model years? I have not seen one in the wild yet, but the DRL light pipes appear to be gone.

This is just my own personal opinion but I think they’re an upgrade. What’s interesting to me is how Ford puts the amber DRLs on the Raptor stuff. Plenty of folks want their DRLs to be amber. Even the Ram TRX guys along with other male/models. So it’s interesting to me that the XL, STX and XLT headlights come with the amber but the higher end trims have the white DRLs.

Yes, the XLT and tremor has gotten a demotion in the appearance department. No more squared DRLs.

Just the word "amber" tries to somehow mask "DOT ORANGE". I don't want DOT ORANGE. Calling it amber doesn't change its 000glyness. :)

I love the DRLs on my 24 XLT 301A. I absolutely hated the headlight riming DRLs on the previous models. I was thrilled to see Ford changed headlight and DRL configuration with the new grill. To each his or her own, but I'm in the major upgrade camp.

Ok thanks, now I see the amber is the DRL, I thought it was the turn signal and they went back to using headlight as DRL.

Makes sense, thanks.

I don't hate the LED headlights on the 24+ and they're new, so that's refreshing. But the 21-23 headlights reflector LED headlights were a more upscale look with more presence, especially how they tied into the fogs. They're better than any 13th gen headlight oem or aftermarket. The XL's get the LED's now, so that's nice but the XLT's took a step backwards.
