That is a rather large reduction in sound level this time around. Up until this point you have been listing what you did to make it to the next step, however not this time. What did you do to reduce the interior noise from ~69 db to 59 db ?. That would make for a great base to build an active three way system on. You should have heard the AudioFrog GB series with custom ported sub I had in my 2014 before I removed it. It was just so amazing to listen to any music on my way to Boston and back every day. It would send chills down my spine and was like actually being at the concert. Tuned it myself with REW and Mini DSP UMIK-1 microphone.

It is so unrelated and circumstancial that I'm afraid to comment and mislead people.

The only change was XL front end to Lariat front end upgrade. Everything else remained unchanged.

First drive revealed so much louder tire noise compared to before, that I decided to test. But what was different was the wind noise was greatly reduced, unsure of the aerodynamics of each front end but explains why the XLT and the Lariat I test drove were also in the 50s db when I tested them compared to the XL in the 70s db.

That seems circumstantial. How can an esthetically different but basically structurally the same front end make a 10-db difference in sound. Also, the XLT has basically the same front end as the XL.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and make a guess based on my experience with my 5.0-liter intake system that I discovered by accident. The top intake housing that holds the air filter has two cheap plastic snap clamps on one end and three plastic tabs on the other. It is somewhat difficult to get those three tabs all the way into the lower housing and if you don't, the top will still clamp down diving you the illusion that the air intake assembly is fully seated but in actuality it is not. If you don't get this just right then the intake leaks air and the engine gets noisy, especially under hard acceleration. I recently discovered this, and when I fully seated those tabs all the way into the lower housing (again, not easy to do) the engine became much quieter. I’m wondering if this happened to you when you took apart the front end and you inadvertently fixed yours, thus making your engine quieter too. Just a guess but possibly may explain this.

I believe it must be related to the mirror housing and some installation issues from factory causing the addition wind noise. The mirrors were sanded and painted and reinstalled. Other than the front end and the mirrors nothing else changed.

I would love to figure out the actual cause. BTW, I’m from central New England so if you ever attend a car show in the area then I would love to get an up close look at that truck.

This just arrived!

Will be retrofiting the OEM heating pads on the middle bench for complete front seating heating. Will be taping into the OEM passenger harness for power.

Berrones is working on a harness for this to get full functionality of the Lariat active cooling/heated seats.

The stainless knobs on the AC controls and the light switch are causing serious OCD issues since they don't match the plastic ones on the radio controls.

Update

Ordering leveling sensors and brackets and will run wiring to get the full functionality of the OEM headlights. :handsinair:
You could have just used resistors and a potentiometer in-cab for self-adjustable cutoff height.

Figured out the Ford OEM caps on Brink wheels. Ordering the extra ones this week.
Black lug bolts will be in as well.

How did you put the Ford caps on? What offset are these? Looks nice!

While there, began updating the interior to the 2024 Lariat interior. Door panels are in! Steering wheel, Black carpet and leather seats coming next.

OEM XL:

OEM Lariat:

The new door panels is an exact match to the 2024 XL Dash so I do not have to upgrade that to match (thankfully!)

Sorry to necro this post, but I'm curious if you can share the exact part number for this particular Lariat door as well as the other three doors. I'm looking for those exact parts for my STX and can't seem to decipher which one is which based on the Ford parts site's descriptions.
