2022 F-150 Platinum Powerboost Max Tow 7.2 onboard
I currently have a 22’ platinum powerboost with the max towing package. It has had 5 axles replaced due to the ongoing issue that I’ve posted on here before.
I’m trading this truck on a new one. Here is my question…
I see very little difference in the lariat with the 502a package and the platinum with the 702a package. However, there is $11,000 difference in the price. The automatic running boards and the heated rear seats is all I can find that is different. What am I missing? Thx.

2024 502A doesn't come with rear heated seats or power running boards? My 2023 has both of these features. Seems to me that the King Ranch is the sweet spot

I agree but don’t like the 2tone paint and interior color.

grab a copy of the order guide to see what's different with the trim levels. Makes it a lot easier then trying to use the build page. The platinum has an upgraded interior/materials, also comes with the massaging seats.

No help with interior but I'm pretty sure you can still do 2 tone delete like my old one.

You can get a Lariat with a lot more payload. My 501A has 1554 lbs. I couldn't find a Platinum or KR with even 1300 lbs.

This is a great question as I’m on the fence between Lariat 502A and Plat 701A.

This is difficult to answer because of all the options however, I’ll tell you this, from what I can see and please correct me if I’m wrong, the only difference between the 502A and the 701A (I repeat, the 701A - you asked about the 702A) is on the platinum 701A, cost is about $1500 more and you get power deployable running boards and multi-contour seating but you give up HUD, the BO speakers, and probably a hit in max payload of about 100lbs. If you went 702A, it looks like several thousand dollars more and your get the HUD, BO speakers, and the moon roof but of course your max payload would be much lower.

I think that is correct. I know you don’t get the B&O “unleashed” with the 701a.

My 24 lariat ‘high’ has HUD, b+o unleashed, adaptive headlights, heated rear seats and blue cruise. Just missing the mildly nicer seats and massage from what I could tell. In the 23 and older I was only looking at platinums for blue cruise but in 24 the high lariat has it.

I'd generally prefer a lariat; the KR and Platinum are too uglified.

But I want Powerboost, 7.2kw, PAT, HUD, power running boards, massaging seats. OK, and the power folding mirrors, but that's not for towing, but because they're so shiny! ?

I keep speccing out Lariat, KR, and Platinum.

I figure that if I added them to the Lariat , it would be $500-$1,000 for a good HUD (yes, I see them close to $100, but . . .), about $2,000 for the running boards (installed), and about $2k to retrofit the seats.

So $71.0k for 501A, with an extra $5k plus my labor on the seats; $77.9k for KR (getting a moonroof and black seats in the desert), and $77.2 for the 701A (losing HUD and the KR's moonroof), or a whopping $83.7k for the 702A (getting the HUD & moonroof back).

I. can tell the difference between a nice stereo and 1970s GM paper speakers, but not between a nice stereo and insanely expensive. And unlike my former neighbors, I have no interest in parking it across the street to listen to inside my house . . .

So the sweet spot seems to be the least attractive of the lot, the KR, ut everything would be under the warranty & ESP.

And I like the Atlas blue better than the antimatter blue.

(hmm, can I order the KR with stupid color restriction delete, and KR insignia delete? ? )
