Thank you for confirming the FX4 difference between the two. Since I live in Idaho and enjoy being outdoors I felt the FX4 would be the better choice. Thank you again!

Hey Russel,

You are correct. the FX4 is only available up to the 702. The main diff between the 702 and 703 is the interior color and 22inch wheels.

I don't think there should be much...if any delay for a Platinum 702. I'm looking at it strictly from parts commonality. Other than the HUD and new dash design there is not much diff between 23 and 24. The platinum blue on the seats replaces that carmello they had on the 21-23.

Now the 703 replaces the Limited trim. It has the truffle interior...so now that involves an entirely diff color dash, seats, center console headliner etc and I think the carpet too. To me that just seems like a logistical nightmare to have all those parts readily available to blend.
The real question is the Pro Access Tailgate. Are they just building these without them or have they gotten some ready for the open of production?

These early builds will not have the new Pro Access tailgate, it will be the tailgate step. Those new tailgates are late availability. So maybe June or so when Job 2 kicks in.

I'm not 100% sold on the pro access so doesn't matter to me. doesn't affect what I use the bed for (Mulch, long pieces of wood yard debris etc).

Is there still an option for the tailgate step or did this Pro Access tailgate replace it?

The tailgate step is an option up to Lariat.

Once Job 2 starts the pro access tailgate is standard for King ranch and platinum. No other option there.

Only exception is Raptor. That still gets tailgate step.

Long time lurker, first time poster!

After looking over this site for months and bouncing back and forth from the build I wanted. I finally submitted my build with Chip at Granger Ford on Friday. Little birthday gift for myself.

I’ll be going from a 2020 JLUR (selling it) to the Lariat (502a) BAP package. Just needed something that was more a comfortable ride and more towing capacity for the camper.

Now the wait begins and I am very excited to watch the build go through the various steps.

This board is a wealth of knowledge and savings! Thank you!

Got an "update" today.....still waiting for a build date. It's an RCSB XL 103A 5.0......wondering what they're having trouble sourcing--chrome bumpers or fog lights ? Or more likely, it's a base model with little profit...

I placed an order for the same (RCSB 5.0 4x4) on November 8 and had a VIN the next day. Scheduled week of Jan 22

It all depends on if your dealer has an allocation that week when they schedule. If they do, then they pull retail orders based on priority code. Some dealers won't have an allocation so they get skipped.

I hope your build date holds firm! My order (702A Platinum) was placed a day erlier than yours and scheduled for the week of Jan 15th priority 10, X-Plan. I hope both our orders proceed as scheduled!

Despite the strike, I went ahead and placed my 2024 order. I went with Granger and Chip was great as always. With the Granger discount the out the door price is $67,822 (MSRP+Destination was $75,420). Plus, I have a PCO for $2,000 good on any custom order submitted before 1/2/24 and I qualify for the Farm Bureau $500 incentive. This is gonna work out to be about $10k less than my 2022 3.5 EB Plat, and this will be a PB. I know that this wait is gonna be bad, but I've locked in my price. My current truck will keep me just fine until its time.

Congrats on your order! You got a great deal! How were you able to use your PCO at time of order? I was 100% ready to order a '24 Lariat from Granger yesterday, but Chip said: "I have tried to explain our position a couple times. Due to incentives not always being available in Ford's incentive configurator (Smart Vincent) when the vehicle arrives, we don't guarantee them up front. We're firm on that. There is no way to lock those in up front despite what dealers are telling you or what the forums say. These are offers from Ford, not from Granger Motors". I found another dealer that accepted the PCO and 4% under, but I am genuinely curious how some have been able to use their PCO at time of order?
