I know for a lot of people modifying a brand new truck (except for tires and wheels) seems like a odd thing.. Plus you have to find a shop to do it and you can't finance it in with your regular loan. I wanted a regular cab and options this year are REALLY limited so to have the truck I want I'm forced to do it. If you really want the massaging seats and otherwise a STX or XLT will work well for you at $10,000.00 $15,000.00 or even more LESS ... Check and see what it might cost to add them yourself..Even with a full Custom leather interior it might be less than 5 grand. The problem with being forced into a much higher priced truck to get a feature/option you really really want is you pay so much for things you really don't care about. Lots of examples with Ford..I bet in there heart of hearts a huge number of F-150 owners don't need or will ever use 4 wheel drive but the truck/trim they like otherwise like has it. In a RCSB that's a $5,015.00 bump. Leather seats typically force you to get more options than you might pick if you had the choice.
So if the massaging seats is really important ( and the price/money spent too) look at what it might cost you to 'Option' it yourself.

I just checked a gaggle of window stickers in inventory, for both KR and platinum.

They all simply say "leather bucket front seats", some noting heating, some (a majority) having "full recline" in the lower left, and one platinum noting "memory seats" (which I think is standard on Lariat+ anyway).

So if the massaging seats is really important ( and the price/money spent too) look at what it might cost you to 'Option' it yourself.
From a state away, I think I just felt my wife bolt upright in bed from her covid induced stupor, shrieking in terror! [or maybe it was just a disturbance in The Force]

*I* like the idea, but . . .

And in a separate thought, do the massagers make it into the full recline seats? As I think back, I've seen no indication that they do.

I know 5 grand will do a lot of Custom interior work.. But I have trouble thinking any F-150 is ''Worth" 75 -80 grand or more. Inflation is real.. I get that I really do. But none of my granddaughters and one son-in-law make over $25.00 a hour and they have 'good' jobs..My VA disability HAS gone up a little since 1976 but in the last 10 to 12 years not near as much as homeowners insurance (quadruple) food and gas more than double.. But if ya got it why not spend it..

spending is still kind of difficult.

I cut pretty much to the bone 30 years ago to support a family of four while I was a grad student. And by the time we could have let up, there was tuition (as well as having had twins in grad school). Tuition actually went down for college as they all went the public route (and three of the four graduated without having taken loans, although the financial aid officer was angry with them for turning them down! ).

And then covid relief wiped my field (bankruptcy law) of the board (it took away all the last straws that led people to file.

So we remained tight.

And then I finally noticed that my retirement accounts made more than I'd ever grossed--and that we were only a few months from my Wie hitting 59.5.

And so now, even though I can afford it, I have to overcome deeply ingrained habits to spend on anything.

So even as I look at spending this huge amount on a truck, and convince myself that it's ok and that I can afford it, I cringe at the price of each option . . .

As someone who has massaging seats... They are overrated as is parking assist. Two things I could easily live without.

I could live without parking assist easily; I used to put a '72 impala into spaces only a foot longer in a single pass.

But the massage sure was useful a couple of times when I was hurting back in that Deville DHS . . .

Besides, it's shiny !

Try it with heat.

Parking assist revokes your man card so ?‍♂
360 cams also makes it a non-issue

I suspect that the 2025 price increases will be relatively mild--both for the competitive reasons that @Polo08816 offers, and because the supply chain disruptions and inflation are both way down.
https://gmauthority.com/blog/2024/08/2025-chevy-silverado-1500-pricing-uncovered/

A total of six 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 trim levels get price increases compared to the 2024 model year. The Work Truck (WT) trim is now $200 more expensive, the LT trim sees a $100 increase, and the RST trim also increases by $100. The LT Trail Boss trim level got the biggest price hike at $800, while the ZR2 trim is up by $100. Finally, the LTZ trim has increased by $500.
The 2025 Chevy 1500 price increases are minimal - way below the rate of inflation. The incentives will likely increase so the actual market selling price will probably remain the same as 2024. It may even decrease below 2024 pricing if the economy tanks.

This puts a bit of pressure on Ford to do the same and hold the line on prices unless they are planning to lose market share.

It's looking increasingly likely that holding out for a 2025 will result in a better deal for you if you're flexible with different makes in the 1/2 ton truck market.

I think if you order a 25 possibly the earliest your going to see it is either January or February depending if you get selected and of course the constraints that seem to always or restrictions.Dont know how quick you were needing the truck or time isn’t an issue and can wait.

HA! My mother was born in the 1930's so she naturally came from a frugal family. Then when we were kids she had 3 boys and 1 girl. Any food that was left over got wrapped in foil, not dated because it did not need to be, and put in the refrigerator. Anything wrapped in foil in the fridge was fair game for us kids and never lasted long.

She never got out of this habit after we all grew up and left home. When we would visit one of the "jobs" for us kids was to go through the refrigerator, unwrap the mystery foil food, and see if it is still recognizable. They never ate those left overs so the foil wrapped mystery food could be in there for a year. It all just went in the garbage when she wasn't looking. :) This gave her more room to continue until the next visit.

HA! My mother was born in the 1930's so she naturally came from a frugal family.
My grandparents were born in 1912 or so.

I can very much see the rather direct lines from my grandparents, to my parents, to me.

I remember my mother's mother stepping into the street to collect a penny. Her father died when he was three.

Her husband was ravished by Guillain-Barre about when I was born, and neither died nor recovered (as was normal at the time), leaving his treatment in unmarked territory. He painted the house while paralyzed from the waist down, and survived until I was in high school.

My father's mother lost her father young (hit by a train, seriously!), and her mother was one of the refuges outside the mint after the earthquake. Her husband was Oakie, who came further west with his father and brothers when the bank took the farm.

Both of my parents inherited the thrifty habits, and passed them to me.

So, yes, I very much get it, and recognize it too. My mother's mother drank the pickle juice from the jar so as not to waste it, and cut the tape on wrapping paper carefully so as to reuse it . . .

It's just so *hard* to break these habits!

After the last three days in the market, leaving my retirement accounts down somewhere between two KR and two platinums, I'm going to hold off a bit!

I can keep this '98 F-150 another couple of months, should have a '99 deville in proper order by the end of the week, and the '97 Eldorado Touring Coupe within a few days of that.

When the market crashes, insofar as possible, don't spend until it recovers (says the guy with no retirement other than his investment accounts and further SS)

I hope not for Ford’s case. I believe GM will start delivering the 1500s in October. Why is Ford always late to the game?
