I leased a new 2023 F150 SCrew Fx4 with 11 miles back on July 24th. The next day when I had a chance to get it on the highway I noticed a heavy vibration in the seat and a clicking/ticking noise (which I think was from the vibration) from the back of the truck between 55-70mph and it seems to get worse the faster you go. I called the dealer and stated I think its either flat spots (the truck was too new on the lot for that to be an issue I think) or that there was a tire out of balance. Its more vibration than just a minor annoyance but I don't think that the vibration is necessarily bad enough to be a safety issue. I am just worried that something is out of spec that will cause a mechanical failure prematurely. This has turned into a huge ordeal.
I dropped it back off on July 26 for them to balance the tires. This did not fix the issue. So far this is what I have been told they have done:
-Balanced the Tires
-Road Force Balance on all tires
-Replaced tires and wheels
-Replaced rear driveshaft
-Checked CV joints
-Rebuilt Rear End
-Checked drive shaft alignment
-Rebalanced Tires again
Now they are saying that they are ordering a new rear axle and rear end.
I read on another thread that there were some people experiencing a similar issue but the with vibration from the pedals and steering wheel. I did notice a slight vibration in the wheel but it feels more from the rear end. I have also read about a drive shaft hanger not being torqued correctly that could cause vibrations. I made mention to them about the front drive shaft possibly causing the issues after reading other threads as well.
Now my service writer is saying that the tech thinks there is no fixing the truck as they see nothing wrong with it. They can duplicate the issue (or I assume so since I have not driven the truck since I dropped it off 2 weeks ago.) They did say there is not a Lemon Law case as this is just one instance. i dropped it off with 80 miles and it has 260 now so I know they have been driving it to test.
I am unsure of what happens next. I was in the car business for almost 10 years but with GM and their process is a bit different. Is there anything Ford will do if they cant fix it. I know on a GM buyback there is a process but the replacement must come from Dealer stock and the dealer doesn't have another truck like mine. I also think the dealer is trying to fix it so I don't know what good another dealership would do.
Also, now in the app it shows a failure on ABS, Wheel Speed Sensor, Driver Assist and drivetrain module. Since I am getting little feedback, what are the chances something broke in there diag and not saying anything?
I know there are other threads on vibrations but I have not seen one about a vibration from the rear and not the gas/brake pedals. Could all the tires they put on there all be bad, or all bad driveshafts? I'm at a loss.
Also in a separate issue, the day before I dropped it back off at the dealer, I remote started the vehicle from the app and when I came out to the truck the whole thing was shaking hard. I got in and turned it on and the dash lit up with service engine soon and the vehicle would not move out of first gear. I turned the vehicle off and back on again and it seemed to be fine. No codes were thrown.
