I added the 3.73 locker to my RCSB 5.0.
You get the better rear end, not just different gears. Bigger axles, beefier gear.

Will be better for towing, even if its just once in awile.

I will be adding a snow plow to mine once i get it. Just for my drive, but why not get the heavier duty rear at a crazy low price?

I think its crazy not too. At that price, I think folks are crazy for not getting it.

Im scheduled for week of 6/27. Can report once received.
I did the same as you figuring why not get the 9.75 for the same price. I think the locker cost me an extra 500 up here but I did use it a few times in the winter.

I got the 3.73 on my rcsb 5.0. I think the ten speed makes the finals drive gearing not nearly as noticeable as it used to be. It probably stays in 10th more when maybe a 3.31 or 3.55 truck would drop to 8th or 9th depending on grade and how much weight your carrying/pulling. I mostly wanted the 3.73s since I knew I would be putting 35 inch tires on. No regrets so far.

Came across this thread with folks wondering whether or not to get the 3.73 ratio.
Well Ford made that decision easy for all, in 2024, wether you want any other ratio or not.
I have had my 2024 RCSB for almost a month. I wanted the 3.73 anyway and was happy they made the 3.73 locker the standard rear end on the 2024 RCSB.

Went from a 2019 RCSB 2.7 3.73, which I loved even with the funky cool temperature shifting.

With the 5.0 and 1700 miles on it, I’m at 18.9 lifetime and I saw 25.5 mpg on my one relatively short highway trip.

It’s fun to drive. I use it for work and a daily driver, and am very happy so far.

Long live the regular cab.

What are your thoughts on that 2.7 you had versus your new 5.0 RCSB?

Is 3.73 going to be to much for mostly a daily driver 22 Reg Cab 5.0. ?
3.73 is always the right ratio regardless of engine or wheelbase!

I am still getting used to the 5.0. I firmly believe the 2.7 would eat this thing alive,,,,up to 60 MPH. That is strictly seat of the pants evaluation, but the 5.0 feels sluggish at lower RPM’s in comparison.
That said, when wound up, to at least 3000 RPM, the 5.0 seems as though it can hold its own.

And I can’t explain, and it may just be the awesome exhaust note, but the 5.0 makes it feel like even more of a truck. Also, up around 4500 to 5000 RPM, it seems rather loud. No complaints, but I will be leaving the exhaust stock, as I love it the way it is.
I’d like to hear the difference in a RCSB versus the CrewCab exhaust. I test drove one once in a 13th gen and I can’t remember it being as loud as mine, under hard acceleration. Maybe the shorter exhaust makes more sound?
