Yes, it is. It's not for people to make snarky comments to people about "enjoy your junk". You're being an asshole, probably because you're mad at the situation you're in. I don't blame you for that, but being a dick to people here who haven't done anything to you is wrong.

That freakin sucks, especially if it was your dream truck. I hope it gets worked out one way or another. I actually kinda know what you mean-I'm still making payments on a 2025 ram laramie I'm lemon lawing. It keeps misfiring and no one can fix it. I drove it myself a total of about 600 miles, the rest of the 1100 it has on it was the dealer service department trying to diagnose and fix it. That truck was not as expensive as the one that's giving you fits though.

There are a number of people on the forum who are justifiably annoyed/disappointed in Ford's quality. Mine does have a slight whine once in a while, but it is generally not noticeable.

Have you checked the transmission fluid level? It seems like a number of people have had incorrect transmission fluid levels. If I were in your situation, I would check the level and adjust as necessary. If the level is correct, I would add or remove a 1/4 of a quart. This might be a waste of time, but maybe it could make a difference.

Had a dodge. Years ago. Was a disaster.LOL then a new 2009 f150. Never even changed a head light in 15yrs 340k km. I love the new Lariat but all the chiming, ding ding and trans noise are unbearable . Put it in reverse and ding ding ding.
Push the start button and DING DING DING. Open the door and ding ding ding.
My wife laughs when we use the truck! So we use the Honda and the truck just sits in the driveway. To aggravating. Its supposed to go back to the dealer for some other issues but its been at the repair shop for a brake booster, grill shutter replacement, trans noise , wiring problems . I regret buying this one!

I think my transmission fluid is too high, measured the dipstick with warmed up transmission and it seemed like it was above the normal level. took it to the dealer, they said they checked the trans fluid and it was normal and the whine is normal. the whine definitely gotten louder in the last 3 years (mine is 2022 with 27k on it). how do i go about pumping out ATF?

At that mileage I would just change it and add new to the proper level.

I was thinking of replacing the plastic pan with a metal one. Do you know or have any recommendation by chance of which pan would be a good one to use?

Take a look in the mirror, are you one?
If you are, change.
If you aren’t, then you’re good.

It sounds as if you might be better off, taking it to a shop and having them do it

It is a pain to either add or remove transmission fluid since the dipstick hole is also the fill or removal hole, and it is located on the side of the transmission.

I use a simple fluid pump that I purchased at AutoZone, and it works pretty well.

Ford F-150 2022 5.0 10r80 Transmission Whine 1743275231708-it

Performance Tool Transfer Pump

It extracts from one side and emits the fluid from the other side, so you can pump the fluid directly in a container to measure it. Once the flow starts, it will continue to flow without pumping. Pull the hose out when you have pumped enough. When done, make sure fluid has run out of the hose and pump to make sure you are measuring most of the fluid that was extracted.

Take some time to get setup for this or you can end up with a mess. You want to use a clean container to won't easily tip over.

I did this during winter last time, but I used a heat gun to heat the hose to make it flexible.

I have a pneumatic extractor pump that hooks up to a compressor. Do you leave the engine running when taking measurements?
