They said could take 2-3 days to pull the updates . I’m not saying it works , but I called and asked if there was a way to force a update and that is what I was told.

Support with Ford?

I was OK until he said it fixes it but it takes 3 days before it knows its been fixed. ?

I'm amazed they said that with a straight face

I called and asked and what I posted is what I was told. I seemed skeptical, that is why I posted it.

Did they mention the part where you have to stand on one leg while rubbing your belly with one hand and patting your head with the other?

In all seriousness: Nothing can be done to trigger an OTA. This has been told to me by people much more knowledgeable than me about these things.

The two times I tried to call the OTA hotline, I knew more about the issues than they did. All they do is look at PTS which is what I have access to. The second guy I spoke to even jokingly offered me a job there. They are nothing but customer service reps with no real knowledge of these issues. Just so you can see the level of ignorance these people have, read what this member was told the reason his updates weren't going through:

FWIW, my 2021 Job 1 Lariat PB (built late Feb 2021) is now at 3.5.4.

OTAs only, no dealer work or FDRS on my part.

My bad.
I misunderstood.
I thought they were saying that if you do the sequence they described that it would reset the module but it wouldn't start working again for 3 days.

I have another recall so I am going to try to see if they will look at the truck not getting beyond 3.5.2. I called FORD OTA line and they told me there was a problem with the airdam and that could be keeping the OTA's from downloading. 3.5.3 tried and failed and was told that the truck will not get it again.

I think FORD needs to do a rethink on the OTA. Great concept, but poorly executed and supported. Just MHO.

If I might ask. How long was this update from getting 3.5.3 . Still waiting for my April 21 build to update to 5.4 . As well all of the truck updates have been OTA

2.7.4 on 06.22.22
2.8.1 on 07.07.22
22-PU0727-VI-FXB on 09.06.22
3.5.3 on 01.27.23
3.5.4 on 02.01.23

It seems like there might have been another in December. If so, it's not showing in Ford Pass now.

Regardless, after 2.8.1 it was quite awhile until the 3.x.x updates started coming.

Considering Ford sent a note out to all dealers to not perform 21G01 until further notice due to issues with the IPC update involved in the process, I don't think you're going to get much success getting them to do that right now.
I agree, unless something changes on that front I'm not expecting success. There's got to be a reason they put a hold on it, which I can only imagine is due to something in their process still being broken. However it's odd that people at home seem to have no problem updating their trucks themselves the FDRS yet Ford won't let dealers do it?

I don't know if I'm mistaken in thinking that getting bluecruise working on my truck will also fix my issue getting updates. My assumption is that once I'm far enough along on updates that bluecruise works, then I'll be far enough along to get caught up with everyone else on OTA updates.

Well, because when we get stuck at some point, we have Jesse to bail us out and they don't. lol Honestly, I have the same reasoning as you. I don't get it, either.

I don't remember the state of your truck, but if you are past Sync 20262/20301 where these trucks get stuck at, then you are just at the mercy of Ford's OTA process sending you the next update. BlueCruise comes with OTA 2.8.2. If you were to manually update your truck to 2.8.2 and leave the rest of the modules alone without updating them, it doesn't mean you are going to get 2.8.3 right away. You would have to wait until whenever your truck falls in the queue to get the next update.

FWIW, to update what is happening with mine, I did receive 3.5.4 a couple days after 3.5.3.2.

And the next 2 days when I didn't drive the truck, it went into deep sleep mode, according to fordpass. But other than the annoying chimes until you drive around and charge up a bit, it consistently starts, even remotely, even when it says it shouldn't. Weird. I'll ask the dealer about a new battery next time it is in. 17k miles.

Is there an easy way to know if my truck is a Job 1 truck? I suspect it is since it's a 2021 purchased in June of 2021.

If that is the case, then job 1 for sure. If I remember correctly, and truck build on or before June of 2021 is a job 1.
