Hey y’all! I purchased OEM style bed lights, switch, and wiring that plugs into the bed harness on both sides under the tail lights and have it all installed.
unfortunately, the as built changes that I’ve found don’t seem to be working. Does anyone have a link to a thread where this has been discussed already or can help me figure out what changes I need to make to get these lights and switch to work? 2022 lariat.
Thanks in advance!
@ZKeith Did you look at the first post? It has the link to the Forscan sheet.

I did. Those didn’t work. I ended up finding a link to a you tube video that got it working through multiple easy mode changes. But they only turn on with the button in the bed or in the cab. That’s ok but I thought they came on with courtesy lights too.

Check in the BCM:

2 =PLCC NOTUSED6 =PLCC TRAILER
3 =PLCC PUDDLE
4 or 5 should turn on the bed lamps with courtesy lighting if they're done correctly.

EDIT: hmmm, I just checked mine which I thought were working this way, so I'll have to investigate some more for bed lamps as courtesy lighting.

I want to do Bambi mode and remove rear view camera not available while driving. I know I can do the former in the as written section but the latter needs to be done in as built. The spreadsheet said to reset APIM after this change. Where do I do that? Is that under the wrench? I never bother with that section when I used forscan years ago for my explorer.

Yea, in the wrench icon. Look for apim reboot.

Not sure this is the right place, but figured the forscan experts are here.

Is there a command in Forscan to trigger the 12v charging pin on the trailer 7 pin plug?

I can't get that 12v to activate on my trailer and would like to confirm the truck can indeed produce it.

I installed Raptor style LED tail lights and I disabled the bulb outage detection for the brake pos and turn signal lamps with Forscan. So it’s not hyper blinking and everything is working as normal.

However scanning for DTCs show:
B1247-15 (Left Rear Turn Indicator)
B1248-15 (Right Rear Turn Indicator)
B1444-15 (Left Rear Stop/Position Lamp Output)
B1448-15 (Right Rear Stop/Position Lamp Output)

Why is the truck still giving these DTCs even with bulb outage detection is disabled?

Share the detail screenshots of the DTCs; that will help.

Trying to remove the black box and no matter what I change it will not disable the box. I reset the APIM after the change and still no dice.

Mine works from the factory, does not work with switch switched to auto headlights. Headlight switch must be on or in running light position.

I'm not looking to turn it on permanently with Forscan, more in a diagnostic kind of way.

I've tried several ways to get 12v to show up on that pin but nothing seems to do so i figured there's got to be a way to at least test the system and make sure it's capable (and not damaged or faulty).

Just did some testing, mine works with trailer connected. It can be turned on in Forscan. Its in the TRM. Trailer module has to detect a trailer otherwise.

I went in to Forscan, the only TRM access is the as-built. I assumed there was a service function to test it.
I looked at the options in the TRM, battery charging without trailer was already on, but i never get 12v on that aux pin.
I think i'll have to take it in, that module might be bad. All fuses look ok.
