I have been out of the forscan game for a few months and havent been following the forum much lately. Quick question, what is ADAS versus what I have now? I have read back about 8 pages and maybe missed a post or 4 but I cant find what I am looking for. I plan on doing some forscan mods this weekend (camera at speed and black box be gone mods for sure) I dont have 360 cameras but I do have lane centering and adaptive cruise. Thanks for any info and sorry for the questions but I did try to look before asking.

Hey everyone, I'm new to Forscan and looking for some help. This is on the latest Forscan version connecting to an OBDLink MX+. I'm trying to pinpoint why my truck is unable to exit brake service mode. It was in power saving mode when I tried to enter through the accelerator/EPB/brake/cycle ignition method and it wouldn't do it. So I tried through Forscan, and it worked. Now it can't exit brake service mode through either method. Forscan keeps saying "service procedure interrupted" and a U0415 DTC appears after this- "Invalid signal from ABS control module 'A'". This DTC reports the ECU Power Supply voltage at 12.0v.

I wonder if it could be battery related. I had the battery on a 6 amp charger and got the SOC to 100% - reported by the charger. Forscan reported 13.2v. Turning on the ACC immediately dropped Forcan's reported voltge to 12.1v and then after a few minutes it recovered to 12.5v. This is when I attempted to exit brake service mode again, with the 6A charger still hooked up. I've read here that this truck draws 18 amps when in ACC so maybe the charger isn't up to par for this, in combination with a weak battery. I've tried an older version of Forscan with no luck.

Thanks for any help.

There seems to be an issue with some 21 trucks deactivating brake service mode through Forscan, and sometimes even using method below doesn't work. I'm not sure Forscan is making the correct calls on the ABS module to deactivate. The only certain way out I've found is to use FDRS.

SSM 49487 - 2021 F-150 - Brake Service Mode Deactivation Procedure Some 2021 F-150 vehicles may experience difficulty in deactivating the Brake Service Mode when following the procedure in Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 206-00.The procedure in the WSM is being updated at this time, and the correct procedure is as follows: 1) Set the ignition to ON. 2) Press and hold the accelerator pedal and place the electronic parking brake (EPB) switch in the APPLY (upward) position. Continue to hold the accelerator pedal and the electronic parking brake EPB switch. 3) Firmly press the brake pedal for at least 1 second. Release the brake pedal while continuing to hold the accelerator pedal and the EPB switch. 4) Set the ignition to OFF then set the ignition to ON within 5 seconds, then release the accelerator pedal and the EPB switch. Thank you, After I wrote that I was able to get leads from another truck and attempted to exit via both methods with no luck. ECU Power Supply Voltage reported 13.0v on the DTC. So it certainly wasn't a voltage problem. I called my dealership and they said the same as you -- They've seen this a lot and FDRS is the only way.

On a side note, I was able to drive down to dealership at around 30km/hr. It didn't feel unsafe, just didn't have much power from the brakes. It appeared that the truck wouldn't shift past 3rd (not that I wanted to try anyways!).

I'm glad to hear you found a resolve for the situation. I'm a long way from needing rear brakes on my 2021 at 20k miles, so I hope they fix Forscan by then. If not I'll be getting a $50.00 2 day FDRS license to do a brake job ?

Thanks. I hope so too. For FDRS you need a more expensive adapter, correct? I'm back from the dealership now; they fixed it with FDRS. I commented: So basically, I can't work on my rear brakes? And the service rep said, Yeah pretty much.

He did say something else interesting... They used FDRS in combination with the method of accelerator/EPB/brake pedal/cycle ignition.

Correct, for FDRS you would need to purchase a Mongoose cable there about $530. I purchased one, as my 21 was hopelessly stuck with the 1.7.1 OTA problem in early 2022. It's pricey but it's a great tool to have in your arsenal and you can apply updates anytime you want by simply purchasing a 2 day FDRS license for $50. Dealers will not apply updates unless there's something wrong with the truck, so if you want to always run on the latest software you'll have to do it yourself and FDRS is the way to go. It's also fully compatible with Forscan. You may be able to find used ones on Ebay as many people update there trucks and sell the cable to recoup the $$.
I'm glad everything worked out OK for you today!

What does it say when you hit the info button on that?
Here is what it says.

Ford F-150 2021+ F-150 FORScan List / Database / Spreadsheet 1696038158466

I've been reading through the previous posts here, and I can't find information as to what you did to change "speed sign recognition" to "Tolerance". can you post this for us?
The Tolerance option shows up when you enable Speed Sign Recognition, it is part of the IACC system.

Update on using Predictive Speed Assist after driving 5 hours yesterday with it. It is really nice! It will even slow down a tad on certain sharp curves which is what I usually have to do anyways, so having the truck do that for me automatically is just that much nicer. I'm curious though if it is kinda a connect nav feature as much truck still has the trial active, so I'm curious what will happen when that ends.

What changes are needed to enable the Tolerance feature? I'd really like to try this out.

Do you already have ACC and see speed sign recognition in your settings?

Yes, but it's not a blue cruise truck, So I have lane assist, Speed sign recognition
What does your cruise control menu look like and what settings are there? A picture of it would be best
