Do you or @Jesse-Infotainment know if the IPMA has to come from a truck that had Active 2.0/Active Park Assist 2.0 optioned/equipped, or just from a truck that could have been optioned with those features? My Lariat was built before the APA deletes hit, but I only optioned Assist 2.0.
I don’t know, but my guess is that they have different IPMAs for the different options.

Yeah, I disabled mine a long time ago.

I've never had my tailgate down warning go off. Didn't even know that was a thing!
Here is a video of what I was talking about. Does everyone else get the same amount of alarms and warnings when backing up with the tailgate down? Forscan disablable?

I have a Job 1 2021 that has Dynamic Hitch Assist listed on my window sticker but I don’t have Active Park Assist. I made the Forscan changes and the option is now available and my truck sees the trailer coupler and places the green circle properly. However when I put the transmission in neutral as instructed I get an error message and the screen tells me to place the transmission in park. It seems to me the active park needed for dynamic hitch assist is what is failing.

Aron, so did you physically replace your 2022 IPMA with a 2021 IPMA? How would you know it had the active park chip? I would think that Ford would have one standard IPMA and activate the features purchased (like active park assist) with software. The 2022 and 2023 IPMAs are different due to the chip shortage…

Yeah, that’s what I was getting before I replaced the IPMA. On my window sticker, it was labeled “Active Park Assist Delete”. That’s the only way that I knew that it wasn’t supposed to work, but it worked in the 2021s (with the proper features). My recollection is that there are different IPMAs, depending upon how many cameras and sensors feed into it.

Here’s what the missing chip looks like: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...-parts-are-available.13767/page-9#post-313019

I wouldn’t recommend pulling your IPMA apart to see; if you’re getting those errors, I think that it’s pretty likely that you are.

Trying to figure out this trailer hitching assistance issue... I have a 2021 Job 1 XLT 302A. My window sticker lists "Dynamic Hitch Assist". I'm learning that that means just the black lines when backing up. The 2021 owners manual talks about "trailer hitching assistance" that automatically back the truck up to your coupler but I cant find that feature really on any 2021 model. I suspect it was a feature meant to be on the 21's but the software or hardware wasn't ready.

On the 2023 build and price site it specifically says that "pro trailer HITCH assistance" is included with the "pro trailer BACKUP assistance" feature. It comes with the trailer tow package. There is even a Ford you tube video showing the difference between dynamic hitch assistance and as they call it a new feature for 2023, pro trailer hitch assistance. ().

Note that Active Park assist or Bluecruise is not even available until hitting the Lariat trim level, but pro trailer Hitch and Backup assistance is available on the lower trim levels. So to me that means you dont need Active Park assist or Bluecruise to have pro trailer Hitch assistance

I have pro trailer backup assistance (the 2021 version). There has been discusion about needing the deleted Active Park chip on the IPMA. The 2023s dont need Active Park assist for pro trailer hitch assistance to work (but do they need that chip...). Any ideas how I can make this work on my 2021? Im going to check with my local Ford Parts department about differing 2021 IPMAs. Thanks

I'm curious what IPMA mod you made. DK4 originally listed the IPMA change as:

706-01-01 xxxx xx4x xx-- ModuleFeatureCfg_AH

Then crazywayne mentioned some folks were using a modified value of 5, which is what I'm using. I have a fully updated 2021 Job 1 501A with no BlueCruise or Active Parking Assist but with Pro Trailer Backup Assist. I got the crosshairs and on screen instructions but haven't been able to test with a trailer yet.

I just went back and edited my IPMA mod value from 4 to 5. Definitely a mistake there, so now my previous post should be good.

I hope you guys get it working. If there is anything I can do to help just let me know.

Pasting from a separate post, commenter thought perhaps I should move it to here, seeing how this is where it all began ...

This is copied from the "other" forum, looking for a solution! A clue, even...

Using FORScan, I have enabled a few items with no issues. Today was for Global Windows Open/Close. I made the changes to APIM (for SYNC4 menu), and DDM, PCM, and BdyCM (as it appears for me). I have verified the changes three times, still no joy. I decided to check the settings with the "Easy" method. All Global Windows options in APIM, DDM, and PCM are Enabled. Now the fun part. In BdyCM, here are the options. Global Open - Vehicle and Global Close - Vehicle are Enabled. Anyone with a 2023 and Global Windows working care to verify that this is correct for me? I really don't know what else to try at this point. I'm guessing that the second "press and hold" should only be for a second or two, and I've tried way past that.
And I don't know if it is important, but where is the Global Windows option supposed to be located at in the SYNC4? I can't find it anywhere, although APIM says that it is Enabled.

I shall answer my own post. After John917 told me where to find the SYNC4 option (Settings->Vehicle-Windows), I saw that they were not "on." So I turned them on, and it works fine! I may look at getting rid of that horn beep when closing the windows by doing the opening and closing with a press & hold instead of two presses. I'll have to consider that ...

I tried both 4 and 5. Neither made a difference. We are so close. With the Forscan changes the Pro Trailer hitch assist option comes up when pressing the button. Select that option and the white circle comes up, back up to the coupler and the circle turns green the instructions say go to neutral. Do that and it thinks for a minute and goes to an error message and says put it in park. The actual driving part is where it seems to be failing.

Probably a dumb question but after all your Forscan changes, you are making sure to clear all DTC’s and take your truck for a short spin around the block before trying to line up on a trailer, correct?

i didn’t have any DTCs that needed clearing and I drove a good distance.

I tried backing up to a boat trailer and got the same results you did, "system error". I feel like we're missing the thing that allows automated throttle inputs like Active Park Assist does. I have no idea where that module that feature is buried in. I didn't see anything in the IPMA. And it might not matter anyway since we may not have the hardware.

The need for the Park Assist chip is pure speculation on my part, but an educated guess. The only thing that changed between the hitch assist failing and success is a change in IPMA. And the only thing (that I’m aware of) that’s different between the two IMPAs is that park assist chip.

It’s quite possible that the original design was to include the chip in all IMPAs, and differentiate the features by the sensor packages.

Thats what I‘m thinking. The chip isn’t only for active park assist but any function that requires automatically maneuvering the truck, like pro trailer hitch assist. if so the question becomes do all 2021 IPMAs have the chip? You would think it would be more efficient for Ford to have one standard IPMA and use the software to activate certain feature rather than build custom IPMAs for each model level and options purchased. I’m going to try to visit my local Ford parts department tomorrow and see what I can find out about 2021 IPMAs.
