We cant call these a success until you actually use it to hitch to a trailer. Alot of people can get the screens to show up but the system will not work properly when trying to hitch.
That'd be me. :)

But if it's true that having a 2021 IPMA, with the elusive chip, is the missing ingredient, I'm going to go down that rabbit hole eventually.

But I'm cautiously waiting to see such a success 2 or 3 times first. I'm all in on leading edge. But I avoid bleeding edge, if you know what I mean.

Great respect for you pioneers!

Right. I have a job 1 2021 fully updated. Activating hitch assist works. Holding the button the truck will back/turn to approach the trailer as it should.... then it doesn't slow enough, the ball misses the hitch by 4+ inches and, if you aren't on top of it, you risk hitting the trailer with your bumper.

Ah gotcha, I didn’t realize that.

Are the SuperDuty and Lightnings having the same issue with the feature, or no?

I should be able to test it out later today.

Pro Trailer Hitch Assist is a success on my truck.

My values for reference.

APIM
My Orig: 7D0-01-03: 524D, 21E5, 3F
To Mod: 7D0-01-03 xxxx xxFx xx

ABS
My Orig: 760-03-01, DB20
To Mod: 760-03-01 xx3x -- Autohitch

IPMA
My Orig: 706-01-01: 8A50, A219, AE
To Mod: 706-01-01 xxxx xx4x xx-- ModuleFeatureCfg_AH

Sequence of ops: Connect, make backups of the (3) modules. Perform mods as listed above. Reset APIM. Clear DTCs. Tested first with no hitch ball, didn’t like it. Installed my hitch ball, got the dreaded orange bottom on screen. Drove around block, tested again, success. I will try again in daylight with my trailer.

Ignore the weird looking lights above my hitch (I added clearance LED’s that show up in my rear cam views. Pic of what I’m talking about here.)

Truck specs: ‘22 502A w/scales, smart hitch, max tow, active park assist and pro trailer.

@Livnitup Thanks guys!
You essentially have the same options/build as i do. btw, 145 or 157?

another poster said they used 5 instead of the 4. what exactly is going on here? haha
4 is listed as MFCVOD Disabled MFCAH Enabled MFCTAD Measurement_TAD
5 is listed as MFCVOD Disabled MFCAH Enabled MFCTAD Measurementless_TAD

thats like a foreign language to me

Do I get to claim success now? Because the AI in my truck just lined up my hitch ball with my trailer coupler way better than I can even with all the cam views I have.

First try, flawless. I tested it 3 times, zero problems.

I was nervous the first time and hovered over the brake pedal (thanks Jim) but it was not needed. The truck was slow and methodical. It was literally dead nuts.

I do use a slightly longer hitch ball than most, not sure if that helped. Based on my experience, even a shorter one woulda been fine I think.

Edit: Screw all the pics, see the video in the post below.

Video. Ignore the 4 second delay when I was supposed to put it into Neutral and my brain didn’t seem to understand

That is AWESOME!

Wayne, that is actually a good catch. I think I may have messed that up. My value should have been a 5 since my original value was a 1.

So I went from “Measurementless_TAD” to “Measurement_TAD”.

That doesn’t change the auto hitch feature at all but I did change ModuleFeatureCfg_TAD, whatever that is.

I might go in and fix that.

yeah i have no idea what any of that stuff means. Im amazed it works as well as it does! i'm excited to throw this in with forscan. i think my 2 month just expired though...but seeing what options your truck has looks to be the exact same as mine. i just saw others say use 5 and you mention 4 i just wanted to get some clarification but it does look like 1 says measurementless just like 5

Yeah I’m glad you mentioned that because I did change something unplanned there. Who knows what it is, maybe something harmless but I’m gonna fix it.

I’m a BAP by the way, so 145”.

Yeah I’ve always had that in my sig here but no big deal.

We may have already talked about it, but I’m DuneRunr on the other forum by the way.

I’m gonna make that fix later today then I’ll test everything again but I don’t expect any problems. That setting I got wrong doesn’t have anything to do with hitch assist (I don’t think).

@DK4 Thanks for posting and verifying. I would say that’s a successful add!
You’re welcome Antho. Thanks to you and the rest for paving the way. I wouldn’t have known my truck had a gas pedal let alone features like this if it wasn’t for all you pioneers.

Last week, @Jesse-Infotainment helped me to replace my ‘22 IPMA with a reprogrammed’21 IPMA to get Active Park Assist enabled (which worked). This afternoon, I had to move a trailer out of my garage to access some other things, and on a whim I tried to see if Autohitch would work now…and it did!

So, it looks like you need the Park Assist chip to make Autohitch work as well.
Do you or @Jesse-Infotainment know if the IPMA has to come from a truck that had Active 2.0/Active Park Assist 2.0 optioned/equipped, or just from a truck that could have been optioned with those features? My Lariat was built before the APA deletes hit, but I only optioned Assist 2.0.
