Are there any known 'unintended consequences' of applying this edit to my 2021 Lariat (full description in signature block below)?

E.g. any effect on any other vehicle behavior? Just asking because of a mention, perhaps misinformed, in another thread.

Removes black box on reverse camera that says "full view not available"

I'm a comfortable FORScan user, have implemented a number of the "common" features, rigorously backup all before edits, etc, never any problems.

None that I've ever heard of @Buyer2021 , easily backed out of in case, but it being just an APIM change, it's not serious in any way. Works fine on my truck.

Trailer Side View - shows corresponding camera view alongside of vehicle when turn signal is applied with trailer connected Note: requires newest 12/23 ipma update

On 12/8/2023 I received OTA update "6.4.1" which changed my SYNC version to "SYNC 4, Software Version 23291_PRODUCT; Revision 1049". This on the 2021 Lariat described in my signature block below.

• Does that indicate I have the "newest required 12/23 ipma update" needed for the Trailer Side View mod?
• Anyone happen to have a screenshot showing the Trailer Side View provided by this mod?

I just did this to my truck 2 days ago. Must have a trailer plugged in and when you turn your blinker on it will show that camera on the mirror.

That is also the latest APIM update I believe.

Not necessarily, one would hope so though. Best to check on the request VIN lookup thread, someone would be able to say for sure. Meanwhile, making that change in the APIM won't hurt anything; if the IPMA isn't yet ready for it, the APIM change will just do nothing until the IPMA is at the correct level.

@Livnitup ive got a couple suggestions for the spreadsheet. I have a 23 lightning (built 8/23) with sync 4a. This one also seems to apply to ice f150’s. I had an issue where when I would hang up a call with the phone button on wheel I would get a call menu on the ipc. Turns out with some help it was RMI phone. 720-05-01 xxx* this value needs to be 0 for (RIMP disabled)

then this one is Lightning specific. For the APIM 7D0-02-03 xxxx-x*xx if a person wants trailer side view cameras instead of 8 this character needs to be C. When it’s changed to 8 we lose the control tab which is where drive modes are. If changed to C then we have the trailer turn signal view and (CT) control tab. Thanks bud for all your work on this sheet. It really is amazing.

I'm aware of both of these but I didn't think either was something that warranted being on the common spreadsheet but I'm open to adding if others want it.

The lightning is certainly a smaller market but I had a couple guys reach out to my other post about the phone menu so maybe that one ?‍ just trying to help out the community. But they can always search the forums and probably find the answers now that they are posted as well.

I made the mistake of installing the latest DSM update which unlocked all of the additional fields. I have 250 boards and went through changing several dozens of the variables for the boards to that of a 23 F250 but still can't get the motors to stop running on deploy. They run for 3 or so seconds longer than they need to.

Originally they'd over-run on stow, after populating the 250 data and depending on the boards being down or stowed I could get the over-run to be either in stow or deploy after self-test. Initially it was just w/ engine in run that the condition would manifest. Now I've gotten it to over-run every deploy be it walk up or engine on. While I did use the suggested wire gauges, my wire appears to be higher quality than that of the factory. I do have another PRB DSM on one of my extra pair of seats so I may just swap it and wash my hands of the issue.

For those w/ 250 boards don't install the new DSM software.

Here's my current DSM asbuilt for any curious -- just rename .txt

I am looking to change tire size on a 2021 f150 but noticed that you said to not use on 21+. any reason in specific? it did give me a message when I plugged in that this adapter was not recommended. When i plugged in and connected it did find the BCM with a green check.

should i proceed with VINT or purchase the updated one? Please let me know. Your work is much appreciated. thank you

My advice is getting the new one because there are modules like IPMA for example that you will not be able to write to with that adapter.

@Livnitup understood, thank you for the fast reply. Is it safe to say that if a module appears I can write to it? For instance the bcm for tire update.
