1.2 Bluecruise can never update to 1.4?

I recently called the main Ford number for customer service. Spoke with someone from their technology department and was told that if your vehicle has bluecruise 1.2 it will never receive an update to 1.4. So, my question is... Has anyone here had their 1.2 receive an update to 1.4 ota? Or is ForScan the only way?

That is incorrect information. Many here are on 1.4. Look for the threads on it and chime in.

I think the operative terms are "will or can". If left to Ford you "will" be stuck on 1.2. If you pay $50 and do your on FDRS module updates you "can" upgrade to 1.4. All very short sighted by Ford. The want to charge for Blue Cruise subscriptions but they will not automatically update the truck via OTA updates.

If your truck is currently on 1.2, the IPMA software to upgrade for 2024+ F150's has not been released yet. This does not mean it never will be; it is just not available yet. 21-23 F150's do have it available for them.

Thanks for the info on the 2024’s. I am in the group of waiting. OTA’s were fast and often in January and February then stopped when I thought I was ready for BC 1.4 update. Makes sense now why it hasn’t happened.

My 22 Platinum was updated about 3 weeks ago; it is a great improvement.

Got it. Thanks for the info! I wish I could get clarity from Ford like I can from the forums... Makes more sense cause I called my local dealer yesterday and asked if I could have it updated if I just take it in. Said he didn't know the answer so he'd call me back right away....it's been 2 days...haha

Are you saying your 22 Platinum has something higher than BC 1.0? You have auto lane change? Did you update with FDRS?

Yes, I have lane change and went from 1.2 to 1.4. It works well. I am trading it for a 25 King Ranch. It is ordered.

You'd have to wait for the OTA or update it and enable it yourself. There's no other way.

FWIW, 1.2 is pretty slick. Lane changes when you turn signal, and informs you of possible lane changes upcoming..sometimes. 1.4 could hook me I dunno, but I use bc when available more often than I dont
