Agree! If I'm traveling, I will put in slot on side of console. Easy to reach and get.I like the center console gun cases, but can be cumbersome if you need in a jiffy.

Old enough to easily identify users who participate in threads with the primary goal of being argumentative. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks for answering.Old enough to easily identify users who participate in threads with the primary goal of being argumentative.
Takes me all of about 2-3 seconds, without looking.I like the center console gun cases, but can be cumbersome if you need in a jiffy.
Put a nail sticking out of each Nerf dart and you have a solid setup!I'm in Canada. So I had to DYI my own console holster for my Nerf truck gun. Pretty spiffy, eh?

If you don't have a .50 cal rifle strapped to the seat next to you, are you even trying to stay alive? What caliber do y'all use? A friend built his ultimate high speed, left lane, star wars, mall ninja dragon slayer handgun to carry. Has all the bells, whistles, red dot sights, laser, holds 1,200 rounds etc.
So I mentioned that if you ever had to use that, even if it was legit self defence, said dragonslayer will most likely sit in an evidence locker for years.
I'm not saying buy a nine pound highpoint, but an unmodified stock, reliable handgun you can afford to part with for an indefinite period of time might be a smart option...
just sayin
Are you by chance an incredibly bad driver? Unintentionally cutting people off and what not. Accidents occuring behind you as drivers swerve to avoid you casually cruising through the late yellow light, sort of thing.I've got 3 defense of self/others via firearm (only 1 on an agency statement)
There's a clear escalation ladder as a situation builds (though it happens quite quickly) and very rarely does a shot need to be fired. The whole "don't pull a gun unless you intend to use it" nonsense is just that. Unholstering a concealed firearm will instantly stop any sane person from aggression. Some might need to be aimed at. There's not a one-size-fits-all approach and you just won't know how you'll act until a situation arises.
When I turned 21 I bought my first glock 23 off a cop on his lunch break -- got some odd stares with a cop selling a gun in a parking lot. Carried one for over 2 decades. Prefer the 23c, very fast follow ups. I've put 10s of thousands of rounds through them, mostly at 6" steel 7-10 yards. They can still be picked up easily for $4-500.On a similar note, a long time ago I used to daily carry a snubnose .454 Casull revolver in my pocket. Then I woke up and started carrying a small frame 9mm glock, muuuuuch more practical.
Only issue in traffic was defense of others. Dickwad went to jail. Others not traffic related. I just ignore dumb drivers and my regularly driven vehicles have far more power than the typical shitbox doing such things so avoiding them is easy. Driven in atlanta most of my early years and that teaches you "war driving mode" as I like to call it. You can predict most of the traffic by watching the driver. Strategically closing gaps, watching vehicles ahead of the one in front of you, etc... Don't miss dealing with that shit even a little bit. When I pass through there I let the ADAS systems do their thing as well as help it along w/ the throttle to avoid gaps for those idiots who think getting 5' further ahead in traffic is going to somehow shorten their drive. Are you by chance an incredibly bad driver? Unintentionally cutting people off and what not. Accidents occuring behind you as drivers swerve to avoid you casually cruising through the late yellow light, sort of thing.
Just kidding HammaMan!
Thank you for the unsolicited testimonial on the use of my most excellent grammatical composition. This got fun real quick. I'm of the school, if you don't have anything nice to say...you know the rest.
Those of us interested in this thread are "gun guys". I collect mostly historical weapons but carry (plain jane P365 in 9mm) and train to defend myself and my family if the need arises. And you can park next to me, stand next to me, or even chat with me in the local Whole Foods, and you'll never know I had on on me. It's not hurting you, so what's the rub?
To get somewhat back on track, I'm also of the school to keep it on me at all times. I don't like the idea of transferring it, but on long trips where I'm in the seat for a few hours, it would be nice to get it out of my ass crack (no, I don't actually carry there).
I don't want the gun visible from outside the vehicle in the event I get pulled over and have some 'splainin to do. And again, don't want to drill holes in the console at all. Guess it stays on me for now.
I have thought about the console safe, probably still going to get one anyway. But getting it from there in a hurry just seems like a lot of fumbling around.
And lastly, Douchebag is one word. I'm an expert on it's use, lol
This from an LE perspective. I don’t see many agencies or departments training LEOs to deploy a primary handgun from anything other than a body worn holster in a vehicle. You will see some setups for deploying a SBR M4 from the driver/passenger seat for some surveillance teams.I have it on me 100% of the time. I don't think I would want a holster in the truck and have to move it from it to my waist every time... Just keep it on
