I went to the dealer for an Oil change at 44Km (27K miles) and besides changing the Oil and Filter there is a $15.-- charge for GAP*10105* Oil treatment? Anyone knows what this is, and is it recommended by Ford.

Also the cabin filter was replaced, how difficult is it to get at them?
Filter was $58.94 but the Labour was $84.98 (which is about 30minutes)

Man, I feel bad for you.....

First, I believe Ford specifically recommends NOT using any oil additives.

Secondly, a novice can change the cabin filter in less than 3 minutes. By coincidence, I just bought a Ford Motocraft cabin filter yesterday, and it was about $23.00 ($US). The instructions for changing it are in the Owner's Manual. SUPER easy....

Cabin air filter on an F150 is about 5 min including the time to get to the fridge after you’re done and get a beer. Get the dealer to quote on them changing your wiper blades for a laugh.

Do not pay for any bullshit engine oil additives.

cabin air filter is easily replaced. The glove box is removed and the filter is easily accessed. Many YT videos available
Can you point me to a YT video that shows someone changing the cabin filter quickly and easily for a Gen14 truck?

I have a 2018 Platinum an it's a royal PITA. Need to remove trim piece, drop the glove box, contort yourself, and then put it all back. 30 minutes doesn't seem out of line to me.

Now bullshit to engine oil additives I can agree with 100%.

How much was the oil change itself?

Trust us, the filter is easily accessible right behind the glove box. 5 minutes is accurate.

Yeah, I had a 2020 Lariat and it was super annoying. Always thought I was going to break the trim piece. And you had to remove several screws to get other pieces out.

Much easier on my 2023. 2 minute job!

I would be asking to see the product they call oil treatment. None are recommended for the engine oil that I see.

If you talk to Tribologists (lubrication engineers) they will tell you that additives are almost never useful. Tell your dealer to pound sand.

That would be the last time I let my shadow darken their threshold.
Thousands of dollars spent in advertising just to get you to visit their store only to rob you. I’d report them to Ford Corporate for the thieves they are.

It takes less than 5 minutes to change that cabin filter and it is one of the easiest cabin filters to change. I have noticed that dealers from many brands make a killing on these filters! I purchase mine from Amazon.ca. It is $26.29+HST for two! First year I clean them and 2nd year I toss them. I perform this task in early April.

I also change the engine oil every 8000km or 6months whichever one comes first with the best synthetic oil I can get my hands on. Reason is I am planning to keep the truck long term. 8-10 years. Oil cheap, engine expensive.
