5.0L F-150 getting Ford Performance Calibration Tune

I mean a couple more sentences would have told you that i do have a tune. I also cant imagine what kind of hill you're talking about for the transmission to be in 6th at 50mph in normal mode on the stock tune.

I was traveling the Avenue of the Saints North of St Louis. The truck with cruise on throttles back/downshifts going down one hill, back to 10th at the bottom, then downshifts to 8th gear starting up the next hill and down 7th if the hill is steep. Rarely goes to 6th gear, but it has happened. Disappointed that a 400 HP motor has such poor low end torque.

That's when I'm not towing my fishing boat....

You realize that the transmission has triple overdrive, right? Downshifting to 7th is only going into direct drive. That's particularly not bad if your truck has less than 3.73's and/or is on taller than stock tires.

I mean I have 3.31's and as long as I'm not accelerating, it will happily go up moderately steep hills at 50 in 10th.

I guess I was spoiled by my 2018 Mustang with the 2.3l EcoBoost with 10 speed auto. It never downshifted on the hills going to St Louis. I know it's not an apples to apples comparison.

I have been holding out on getting the Livernois Tune for my 24 (as i did not want to mess with the warranty). I might just have to bite the bullet. Maybe the FP one will be out by the end of the year.

The tune is so good. Night and day difference driving.

What flavor of tune are you running from Livernois (sorry if you already answered this somewhere). I know they offer a performance and tow tune as standard, but I'm more just interested in improving the daily driving experience. Not necessarily looking to start running 91+ octane.

Performance 93.

It completely erased the penalty from my heavy 34s, RTT, bed rack, gear, etc.

The truck feels properly quick, throttle response is much better.

I used to drive in Sport mode full time, now I don't need to.

Livernois motorsports have it. Supposedly they are the ones making it for Ford. But they do have their tune available.
