If the testing standards where revised/changed for measuring engine power then why didn't the V8 power figures change? Same for the 2.7 and HO 3.5.

382 got changed to 328... I think it is just transposed numbers.

Pretty sure it was 400 HP for EcoBoost and 430 for the Powerboost in recent years....That picture above is actually a different issue I think....

These are the specs on Ford.ca site. We still can't build a 2026 yet
5.0L V8 with Auto Start-Stop Technology
400 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque

3.5L V6 EcoBoost® with Auto Start-Stop Technology
400 hp and 510 lb.-ft. of torque.

3.5L PowerBoost® Full Hybrid V6 Engine
430 hp and 570 lb.-ft. of torque

From Ford's "Build your own" for a 2026 F150... if you click the "information" icon on the 3.5, it says this:

2026
3.5L V6 EcoBoost® Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology

Included
Standard on Tremor®, Lariat® (500A), King Ranch® 4x2 and Platinum® 4x2. Available on XL, XLT, Tremor®, King Ranch® 4x4 and Platinum® 4x4.

Includes an Extended Range 36 Gallon Fuel Tank.
The 3.5L EcoBoost® with Electronic 10-speed transmission boasts
• 382 HP* (the build your own states 328 but other places say 382, so I'm going with 382)
• 500 lb.-ft. Torque

Features include the Ford port-fuel and direct-injection (PFDI) system with two injectors per cylinder — one in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder — to increase performance. Plus twin intercooled turbos for on-demand power with virtually no lag.

Not Available with: • 122" Wheel Base on XL.

Horsepower and torque ratings based on premium fuel per SAE J139® standard. Your results may vary. When properly equipped. Horsepower and torque are independent attributes and may not be achieved simultaneously.
The 2025 build your own is still up and says the same text, except the power figures are different:

2025
3.5L V6 EcoBoost® Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology

The 3.5L EcoBoost® with Electronic 10-speed transmission boasts
• 400 hp
• 510 lb.-ft. of torque.

Horsepower and torque ratings based on premium fuel per SAE J139® standard
.
SAE J139 is a standard that has not changed since 2020 and they used the same standard on the 2025 trucks.

2025 Powerboost states 430 hp and 570 lb.-ft
2026 Powerboost states 420 HP and 578 lb.-ft.
So the 2026 Powerboost makes 10 less HP but 8 more lb-ft...

2.7 numbers are the same for 2025 and 2026
Raptor numbers are the same for 2025 and 2026

It seems unlikely they would have created a typo and wrote mistaken figures for the horsepower and torque figures for both versions of the 3.5... and these lower power numbers appear in multiple places on the website.
Something has probably changed with the engine.

Smaller turbos may explain it as they would provide a broader torque band at the expense of some horsepower and torque but the Powerboost could implement a different electric motor strategy to supplement the lost torque to provide that 8 lb-ft increase...

However, I would theorize that they mounted the turbos to the head like they did on the 2.7, instead of off a separate exhaust manifold. This would cause a drop in hp and torque (the Powerboost can offset that power loss with the electric motor) but would also significantly decrease Ford's cost and increase their profit.

Whatever change they made, it doesn't look like they made that change for the Raptor or 2.7

I would go with a misprint, I believe manufacturers can advertise crankshaft horsepower within 5% or so. If you actually look at what they dyno and look at the correction factor the 5.0 typically IS 400 HP, the 3.5 usually translates a bit lower to upper 380- lower 390 range. It’s a torque monster not much of a high rpm breather. They may have slipped in an internal figure and not the *advertised* figure and I’d bet will correct it later. I don’t think they actually cut any power from the engine. Someone could try and find the turbo part #’s but I don’t if I buy that Ford is downsizing them randomly for 2026. That would be an odd expenditure and to retest and re-certify for what?

No biggie....nothing a cold air intake and a catch-can + a Turbo sticker can't cure!! 😀

I'd bet on a GPF, it's been rumored for a while.
Only reason I personally doubt that it's a GPF is that only the 3.5's power figures were changed and the Raptor's wasn't changed either. If they were implementing a GPF, why wouldn't the 2.7 and Raptor engine get it as well?

I think the Filter is a real thing for the F150 in '26. Rangers have had them in Australia for years and it seems Ford was delaying as long as possible for the US market - expect them for GM and Ram gas engines too.

Yes, the 2026 F-150 is likely to have a gasoline particulate filter (GPF), especially for direct-injection gasoline engines, as Ford has patented systems for them and they are becoming standard to meet emissions regulations. While specific details are still emerging, the technology is already in use on other gasoline models to reduce particulate matter, and the EPA has stated it will not be relaxing existing standards for particulate matter

I dunno, if particulates were the issue they could have updated the 3.5 to the more modern 5.0 style fuel delivery system before slapping a GPF on there and sending it. Although likely cheaper…The 2.7 and 5.0 do run alot more high side pressure and have a more modern spray pattern for dispersement to mitigate particulates as they were designed later. I believe the 3.5 runs about 1,000 psi less pressure on the high side than the 2.7/5.0, so maybe it needed the help and they didn’t want to invest in redoing the fuel system? We shall see

I don’t think the new Hurricane is running GPF, they just utilized an extremely high pressure injector and worked their magic on fuel dispersement as well.
