After a long 30 hrs I finally got to version 22293 rev 610 but not without an issue that I hope may help other people. I was one of the 4 trucks that was having trouble loading the software updates via USB with a flash drive.

Like the others I did the battery disconnect for 20 minutes and was noticing that the USB connection was somewhat loose and I had to really move the drive around and it wasn’t reading the new 64GB flash drive I had purchased. After looking around the house I came across an old 500GB external hard drive that happened to have an indicator light when connected. With a little work I was able to position the connector to a point where the indicator light lit up and it connected and ran the update. I was able to to push though a small APIM update that opened up a GWM and IPC that were successfully installed. At the point I was at 22177 still with no full screen CarPlay. USB reading stopped working again and I did another battery disconnect ran the update again and still nothing from the USB. At this point I gave up for the night.

This morning got back at it and did the battery disconnect for 30 minutes and started the update same problem.

Pissed and determined to get to the point I could get the most up to date software for my 21’ already being on my second license subscription and $220 invested I decided to just replace the USB module. After a few phone calls and driving to two dealerships I found a FORD OEM replacement. Got home and got it replaced and ran the update again and it worked with zero issues. I do think the system reset with battery disconnect did fix one of the problems I had but I also was dealing with a bad or in the process of going bad USB port. If nothing else worn out…. So something to consider if you are having issues with getting your truck to read the USB connected drive.

Added a few pics of my adventure and part number for the USB module replace in case anyone needs it.

Awesome! I was one of the 4 trucks having trouble as well. Similar experience to yours minus the USB module issues. Finally was able to get updated as far as I could.

I will second what you said and say that @rugedraw was instrumental in helping me get updated too!

I have youtube in Sync4 in the Mach-E.

It's only available when in park.
And honestly, it's not a very good youtube client compared to a phone or tablet. At least the scaling on the Mach-E screen is not well thought out.

Cool idea, of course.
Mediocre application though.

For what it’s worth, since applying the PCM update on my 25 and a relearn two weeks ago my hard downshifts have not returned. Previously they’d come back within a couple of days after running through an adaptive drive cycle.

FYI for anyone else with the problem where you can't log into FDRS on a new subscription with the "URL not found" errors. After talking to people at both 800 numbers/tech support (which is run by Bosch not Ford), the only way to get ahold of Ford is fill out the "other help" form at - FordServiceInfo.Com and wait for someone to get back to you. Someone finally did for me. Had to create fresh new account via motorcraftservice.com and had them switch my subscription over to it, they also were able to reset the dates since it was never logged into. Finally in.

My apim is still screwed
Yea, in your case, I think that is the problem. If you can find another APIM with the same part number, you can PMI it with FDRS to program it to your truck. Much cheaper than a new one.

I'm showing the code in the SCMG module. Anytime I hit view all CMDTCs, neither seat module is in that list. Am I missing a way to view the code in that thing? I can't run PMI or config on it (or do the available update to RH side), throws a weird java error.

I'd be more concenred about that purple SOBDMC. Purple means it is bricked. Try a PMI on that to see if it fixes it.

Didn't do anything. When I hover it says something along the lines of "this module doesn't support DTCs this does not indicate an error"

Just curious, what model laptop are people on here using to update modules in FDRS? I want to start doing my own updates, but don’t even own my own laptop anymore and haven’t had a windows pc in forever. I’m wondering if I can get something for around $100 to use. Thinking an older Lenovo?

I'm using an old Dell PC with Windows 10. It's too old to update to Windows 11 and Microsoft has stopped updating Windows 10, or will soon.... I've lost count and interest in all of the warnings that Windows gives me. I use Linux for my daily driver so the old Win 10 laptop is fine for now for FDRS use. If I was looking at getting a used laptop now just to use for FDRS I would look at a laptop that can at least run Windows 11 as I expect FDRS (and everything else) to eventually require Win 11.

Also try to find the hardware recommendations for FDRS, I think they're on the download page. IIRC it recommends a fairly robust processor and 16GB of RAM, so look for a decent used laptop spec wise and you shouldn't have to worry about upgrading in a few years.

I use a lenovo ideapad. I got it new for around $300. Im sure you could get one used but not knowing what was previously done with computer I wouldn't hook up to my ip address.

I use a cheap Windows laptop. What I did is bought a couple of RAM sticks for $30 and plugged them into the board to boost up performance since FDRS ran slow on it. After the RAM upgrade (which is very easy to do even with no experience), it runs FDRS flawlessly.
