Ordered the new 8-degree mount via order form. I see Lightning owners place the slider at the lowest level possible on the windshield, vs right underneath the rear mirror, classic approach. I am not sure which one I should do! Further, with these current compliance circumstances, should I install the latest 4.0 build on my hardware? TYIA

The lightning guy who installed it download said it drove terrible and he moved his back to the top.

Yes, Bp-4.0 is still what you want to install.

After mush gnashing of teeth of the weekend, it appears the new safety compliance is not going to be much of an issue.

The ban is manual, not automatic, so they will only ban branches that they deem to be unsafe. It appears they are not too concerned with legacy logic, so the older branches should continue to be viable as long as the agnos (base operating system) will load. BTW we had a report that 2.1 wouldn't load on the newest C3Xs being shipped. We will have to update 4.1 to include the safety tests that Comma is requiring, but it looks like we should be able to handle that, although it will probably delay the release of 4.1 for a few weeks.

Alan - do you have a test branch going based on the OP .10 release? Im wondering if Space Lab2 model provides any significant updates for our vehicles.

It does not. It will be in 4.1.

First time towing a new trailer. Without the trailer, the truck seemed to lane center well...uh, maybe not centered centered, but it seemed as if when in the far left lane (3 lane road), it tended to be a bit closer to the left line/shoulder...when in the far right lane, it tended to be a bit closer to the right/shoulder. Now, with the trailer attached, the slight offset doesn't work so well. Especially in the middle, the truck is slightly offset to the right...which puts the trailer right on the right line (uncomfortably too close). What can I do to correct this? Do I need to do a recalibration with the trailer attached? Input some manually offsetting? Not sure which screens I should share, but happy to share whatever I need to.

Here are some items I can share: First word is the menu:
Sunnylink (not enabled)
Toggles: Enable Sunnypilot is enabled; enable lane departure warning/always on driver monitoring/record and upload driver camera...all of these are enabled, everything else is NOT.
Models...was LD until I connected and started looking at menus...then it showed Tomb Raider, so I put back to LD.

Drive started out well, but about 5 minutes into it, got two errors: First was pre-collision assist not available and then adaptive cruise not available. I figure the second was a given after the first showed up, but what might be causes of pre-collision assist error?

later tuning is on the second page of the bluepilot menu.

Choose bluepilot on the left menu, then on the right side there are tabs for the submenus. Lateral is hte second tab. You can "enable advanced lane positioning" and then adjust your offset. However, this is a static offset, so if you put a positive number in to push you right when you are in the left lane, it will make you way too far right when you get in the right lane. This setting might also cause some trailer sway, so be careful when testing it. Doing another calibration is unlikely to help if it is biasing itself based on the lane you are in. You might have better luck going to one of the legacy models (models --> legacy models --> WD40).

Usually it is either a crash of the openpilot software (did you get any orange alerts on the screen?) or a loose connection at the harness under the dash.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and just want to say that BluePilot has been great. It's been fun modding my Lightning with all the crazy ideas on the forum.

I'm not sure if this is a proper place to put this but, I wanted to give back to the community. I have a couple of comma 3x sliding mounts that mount to the rear view mirror laying around that I'm trying to get rid off. They were draft prints that are not "perfect" but fully functional. Let me know if anyone is interested in them. The pictures make them seem a lot worse than they actually are.

If its not the proper place, please let me know and where to post it.

Thanks.

**EDIT**
These are printed in ASA Carbon Fiber for durability and melting.

it looks like the part that connects to the comma was not printed in the correct orientation. Those prongs will be very fragile. I added a 3mf file to my thingiverse post with the correct orientations.

Just unplug it and plug it back in. If that doesn't fix it, then likely one of the cables is going bad. I see you are mounted straight to the windshield and not through a dock, are you using the resistor board somewhere?

I'll give that a try tonight! Just from the unit itself or do I have to try to get all the way down to the canbus again? That was a bugger to reach a hand into! lol

I bought the OEM harness and had DrayDay do the modification to it so it wouldn't throw codes - I assume the resistor board is something new since harnesses were being modified?

Thanks for the quick reply!

As an aside, I have made 2 trips to Montana in the past couple of months, the first was on one of the v3 softwares, this most recent trip on the 4.0. I had a ton of ping pong, especially on the interstate at 80 mph - not as bad at 70 mph or below. But had none in the v3 software. Also had a pile of radar errors this trip whereas last time I think I only had 1 over 3,700 km....if you have any advice/insight there as well.
