Hey yall so I got the fox 2.0 two inch leveling kit front and rear. They advertise 0-2” of adjustment which is true.

The shop I took it to says “we measure from the bottom of the threads to the top of the adjustable portion. I’m not very knowledgeable on suspension it’s marked in the picture below.
They said they have it set to 2.5” I measured and it is.

I have a little bit of ocd and it’s not quite level it needs about another half inch In the front to be fully level all the way across. So my question is can I push another 1/2” out of these shocks and be okay or am I just better off sticking it out or buying new shocks (I’d prefer not to buy new lol)

The reason im asking this is because I’ve seen people with the same truck and the same shock with 2 3/8 of thread showing which is way more that what mine is showing. The thread amount showing on mine is about a 1 1/2”.

Thanks.

You could probably squeeze another 1/2 inch and probably be ok. Just keep an eye on your cv angles or your going to be wearing out the axles or boots prematurely

It sounds like it raised the truck about 2.5 inches. To get these trucks truly level it will take close to 3 inches of front lift, these trucks have a ton of rake from the factory.

Did you take before and after measurements of the height for reference?

If you want more height give it a few more turns and see how it rides. The higher you go the more preload is on the springs. As preload increases the ride will get stiffer. As mentioned above, watch those CV angles.

Sadly I do not have a before measurements. Theses trucks have a crazy rake now so it takes a lot normally I wouldn’t want to push it but I’ve seen some people push 3” with no problems. It’s either the cvs or upper control arms.

That’s what I was thinking expically since my truck doesn’t see any trail ever it stays on the pavement lol.

Interesting....

I communicated (calls and email) extensively withFox reps about the Fox leveling kit for my PowerBoost.

If you check the Fox web site, you will note that there are 2 stock numbers for the Gen14 F-150, 0-2" leveling kits from Fox. One is for PowerBoost models (due to increased weight of the electric motor and generator) and the other for all other models.

Fox has the height preset at 2" for each offering. You do not need to compress the spring and adjust the locking collar if you desire 2" of lift.

And as others have stated, a 2" leveling kit will not truly level a Gen14 F-150 front to rear.

To get truly level, you will need to go with a lift kit.

While you can obtain another 1/2" lift from the factory preset, Fox does not recommend doing such due to adversely effecting sag and rebound. Further, you will be removing and rebuilding your shock at a very frequent interval; perhaps <5000 miles due to worn internals. Tarmac only trips one can expect ~40,000 miles before needing to rebuild the shock. Combine both tarmac and off-road travel and the rebuild interval will be much less.

Deciding if one wants to rebuild a shock is part of the decision making process when considering Fox shocks. One can expect to be without the use of the truck for 7-21 days depending where you live. And UPS shipping fees on top of the rebuilding fee should be considered as well.

But the off-road ride improvement is stunning with Fox on 4 corners. I have Bilstein on my Super Duty. I much prefer the Fox ride!

Fox had a very responsive customer service department.
I suggest contacting them with your concerns.

If you have a 4x4 pull the rear axle block that will get you there

Thank you for the in-depth response honestly I was thinking the same thing and really just debating on getting a 3” lift anyway so I can fit 35s comfortably

I do I also have looked at that but I would rather lift the front then lower the rear but I might pull them out one night and just take a look at it.

I would leave a tad bit rake to facilitate loads, but if you don’t care about that, and you just wanna take out a half inch of rake I would change the rear axle blocks to slightly shorter, which will accomplish the same thing from an aesthetic standpoint and will not create additional stress on the CV joints that raising it further will do.
Also, in addition to putting more stress on the CV joints, you will further change the ratio of the pinion angle and could introduce vibrations

I have the king 2.5s on my tremor and I also have a bit of rake still but the above comment is spot on. With a full bed it’s perfectly level. If I did anything else the ass would drag on camping and road trips.

Makes sense might try it and see just have to find the perfect size lol.

Just crawl under there with a small tape measure and measure your block and then look for one about a half an inch shorter. I’m guessing you have a 4 x 4 assuming it’s newer than a 1997 model you’re probably gonna find this about 1.25” to 2” so you could buy 5/8 block or 1 inch block. By the way, you’re not shooting for perfect here you cannot visually see a cord of an inch difference standing off looking at it.
Since you said you’re not too familiar with suspensions, I’m including a picture of a rear axle that has a black newly installed axle block, so you can see what to measure.

Here are some sources for different height blocks
Again, you do not need to get it exactly perfect. I have done this on at least five trucks.

And one more thing… I have seen several F1 50s that are 4 x 4’s with 2 inch blocks and from the factory they stacked double 1 inch blocks
