Nicely done!

Although they might need your truck for 6 hours, the TSB barely pays more than an hour for both sides.

I personally think that's a little skinny for even a pro, but it IS a rather simple procedure. Less work than a rear brake job, arguably.

I was able to watch them do mine back in May. It was fast once on the rack with the wheels offs and parts ready, not much over an hour, less than two, for them to swap them out and top off some gear oil, and some of that time was the senior tech training the juniors. The long times some people are being told isn't the job time, it includes porter time, paperwork time, and buffer for rack space with other work being done on other vehicles.

I can confirm that Ford is now shipping trucks from the factory with the new nut design. My truck was built the last week of July 2025. I finally got around to replacing the one time use disposable OEM lug nuts with McGard's, so I pulled the rear wheel and took this pic.

Sorry for the same reply in so many threads - but there are so many threads on the same topic - haha. I'll stop posting now before I get yelled at :)

Could be the very explanation for the sudden increase in shipping time for the TSB. Production line always gets preference I would suspect.

I would say that’s correct assembly line always receives the updates before the customers. I was told by my service writer the parts would be in by October for my truck.

My '23 was done in early July. I received the notice in the mail around mid-May, and scheduled the inspection 1st week of June.

Yep, they only get an hour of repair time to do both axles. Doesn’t look like they even drain the oil.
They do, at least they noted that info on my singoff sheet and copies I received when it was dropped off back at my residence.

Had my service appointment today. Valet picked up the truck in the morning and returned it in the afternoon with the service invoice showing that that axles had been replaced. I popped off the center cap to confirm. Nope! Same bolt. :lying:

I immediately called the Service Advisor. He apologized that nobody explained to me that they simply did the inspection and ordered the parts. He said 7-10 days.

Here’s an idea….Don’t state on a service invoice that you performed a service that you didn’t!
Sounds like your SA isn't properly trained, that's all. But it also means that this can be a good opportunity for some COACHING from his peers.

My SA told me exactly what they were doing (also had valet service), how long to expect for parts, and the follow-up appointment will be determined by when the parts have shipped out and arrived at the dealer.

I notice a major difference between my 23 and 25 when it comes to the brake HOLD feature engaging. With my 25, I have to really press down much further than I did on the 23 for the HOLD feature to engage. Just curious if you noticed any difference on the HOLD feature after update. That is, if you use the HOLD feature?
Be glad you don't have to get out and put wheel chocks every time! 🤪

Maybe you just have something funky going on with the brake pedal or a misaligned sensor.

Buck up for SUDS, man! 🍻

Same here. If your read my invoice it looked like they installed the new axels but they only did the inspection and ordered parts

Question for the lucky folks that have 3 recalls at once like me. Has anyone had the mobile service done for the software updates while the axle recall is still active on their truck?

Also, on the photos. Are they simply taking quick photos of the the center bol or is it more in-depth. Maybe they could take photos with my center cap off on the mobile service 🤷 My bolts are good at this point. I don't want to roll into the dealership until they have the axles if at all possible.

My dealership told me they had to take pictures of the axle nuts to confirm whether they were broken or loose and send those to Ford before ordering the replacement parts. My service writer also mentioned that parts probably won’t be in until around October. While I was there, I had them go ahead and update the brake controller module, and I’ll have them update the instrument cluster when I return for the axle replacements.

I had the mobile service done once for updates. I don't "recall" (sorry) which update it was, but I think it was the brake controller module while under the axle recall. Anyway, the tech took quite a while getting the modules updated and finally he said one wouldn't update and apparently that bricked my truck. He said he was out of time and would come back the next day to attempt it again, but if unsuccessful, Ford would have to flatbed my truck to my dealer. Fortunately, he was successful the next day. I made him go with me on a short drive to make sure everything was functional. Bottom line: I'm sure this was a fluke, but I'm not sure I'd do it again. Mobile service is great for oil changes and simple recalls (wiper motor, etc.), but software updates, not so much.
