Posted earlier I had my 2025 axle recall done on Saturday. I noticed today at 75-80 a vibration. Could that be the new axles or any other ideas?

I saw the notification on Ford Pass app, but when I called my dealership, they wanted me to drop truck off, get inspection then get approval to order the parts for the repair on my 2023. In my opinion, it's a recall and they need to have the parts available to do this repair.
This is standard process per recall. I didn't like it either but have to play their game. Mine were done in May.

I called my dealer today regarding the Axle Bolts and Booster recalls. They made me an appointment for next week. Said they will have the parts for me before I arrive. I mentioned the photos, and was told, 'Don't need them.' Was told they might need the truck for the entire day. The parts need to go in the freezer before installation, which could delay the wait time. Will post back after my visit.

My 21 has been in the shop for 2 weeks with axle shafts out and needing to be replaced with new shafts now. 2 weeks and dealers can’t get the parts, on back order!!!! Only Ford would screw up a wet dream.

I don't know, but I would take it back. That's not right.

Had my visual inspection completed this morning regarding the axles (all was well), plus the brake booster software updated. Service Rep said they will need to order the axles but they are trickling in so hopefully I will not have to wait till October for the parts. Here's what was on my service ticket regarding the axles..

Inspect vehicles warranty history, both RH and LH axle shaft

assemblies are not updated

with the latest part numbers.

Replace both rear axle and hub assemblies, install rear tires. Includes axle fluid check and

top off.

Thank's. This is helpful. Hoping they have the parts when I take mine in end of this month. Good to see this includes rear axle fluid.

The dealership removed your axles without replacement parts on hand. That wasn't Ford, the manufacturer.

Not excusing Ford for not having adequate inventory available. That's inexcusable, in fact.

But I, the consumer, already know this and therefore have the ability to avoid the inconvenience.

Had my service appointment today. Valet picked up the truck in the morning and returned it in the afternoon with the service invoice showing that that axles had been replaced. I popped off the center cap to confirm. Nope! Same bolt. :lying:

I immediately called the Service Advisor. He apologized that nobody explained to me that they simply did the inspection and ordered the parts. He said 7-10 days.

Here’s an idea….Don’t state on a service invoice that you performed a service that you didn’t!

Edited to add: I just happened to check my FordPass app again for the recall message. It has changed! It now says parts are NOT available.

WOW, that sounds shady AF! They never told you 'we'll be calling you at a later date to complete'?

Like they rolled out the red carpet and then...

Well at least they didn't pick up your truck, remove the axles, and then inform you the truck will be returned when the unavailable replacement parts eventually arrive and are installed. 🙄

3.5 years with these suspect axles.
I'll be more than happy to go another year waiting for the recall procedure to reach a less ridiculous frequency of yahooness. 🤣

FORD: You can't have a keypad on your 25, we're happy to offer axles we know are defective though, nice!!

In all fairness, even though the redesigned axle is an obviously superior method/approach to keeping the axle located properly, there are many thousands upon thousands of the "faulty" axles that have yet to shear the bolt.

I personally don't think it warrants any meaningful angst or panic.

I agree 💯. However, if Ford knew they still had issues, why even make the option available in trucks for 2 more years,. They had no problem pulling features and options (while charging more for less), why would they push out a product they knew could potentially fail. I mean, if they're grounding some trucks at service and preventing folks from driving them, how could Ford keep pushing them out the door 🤷

Had the option on the build site read:
Max Tow - Flawed axels currently under recall for the past two years with no remedy available, I bet they would have sold a hell of a lot less Max Tow axles. Personally, it wouldn't stop me from ordering the truck, I wouldn't order it with Max Tow though, just saying 🤪

I thought that I had an inspection this morning and the service tech agreed with that and said it would be about an hour. Three hours later, no it is a replacement and the service people thought that I was going to leave my truck with them for days, weeks, months while they tried to find the parts. Really?

I did reread the recall notice, again (still have not received a paper copy of that). It says a bolt might break and if it does, some bad things might happen. But, parts are not available so just ignore all this scary sounding stuff and go about your day. Why have a recall if no parts are available?

So, that was 3 hours of my life that I will never get back.

Wonder how many truck sales Ford is losing over this? A few months ago, I was strongly considering a Tundra. If this recall was in effect at the time that I looked over the F150 I eventually bought, I would be driving around a Tundra. Who wants to wait months for parts to come in from who knows where when other options exist?
