I did have both of my turbo assemblies replaced. The noise completely stopped for a while, but I now hear it and it is a normal sound to be expected for moving parts as engine RPM comes down. I'm no longer concerned as long as turbo actuator arms are not loose.
I saw the notification on Ford Pass app, but when I called my dealership, they wanted me to drop truck off, get inspection then get approval to order the parts for the repair on my 2023. In my opinion, it's a recall and they need to have the parts available to do this repair.
They do test drives and I've had techs take my vehicles home for diagnosing issues in the past. Not a problem if this gets the issue corrected and repaired.
The Shop Foreman watched my video. It's the wastegate. They are going to see if turbo assembly should be replaced on this side. But he says even with replacement and problem solved, it will come back. Ford says it's normal operation. You can watch it in your truck and see its operation.
I have a video of the passenger side turbo assembly. As idle comes down and the actuator arm moves, the sound is coming from that. They replaced the drivers side turbo assembly and that one is now quiet. At dealership right now and having them document the video/concern.
I can watch and hear this perfectly as the arm on the turbo assembly for the waste gate moves as my idle comes down. I see it move like 3 times and hear the noise. The dealership replaced my drivers side turbo assembly and that one is quiet now as it moves, but this is coming from my passenger...
Okay, I have this exact same noise as my RPM's come down under 1000 on cold engine start. Took to dealership and they replaced a turbo assembly, but I still hear this sound as soon as RPM's start dropping. Then it goes away. What did you find out? Is this a concern or normal operation?
turbo...
Yes. I saw this TSB and I sent it to the Service Advisor. She told me the problem was the turbo assembly and that's what they replaced. But that didn't solve the problem. Might have to revisit this TSB then. Thanks.
2023 F-150 3.5 Ecoboost. On all cold starts as the high idle comes down I hear a scraping sound. It stops once the idle drops to normal idle. Any ideas? Truck was just in shop for this noise. They replaced a turbo assembly and actuator rod. But I still hear the noise. Any one else have this issue?
