In NC. This was done at a major dealer with numerous locations in NC. They contacted him for a recall and he went in to address the recall and they did this "test". I wish he would have called me before... This would indicate they are doing this in USA.
If the test procedure was a steady run under load, I might be willing to let the recall procedure be done on my truck. But that would require a dyno at the dealership. Not likely available, but would be a much safer procedure.

No way am I going to let Ford treat my truck far more harshly than I would myself. The procedure, as you described, should VOID your warranty in a sane world. 🙄

having mine tested and taking one for the team. I read through the procedure, it’s 50 minutes long. They hook it up to FDRS and let it go nuts apparently.

I would be interesting to watch the test be done.

Interesting, My 2021 doesn't show this recall in Ford pass and I haven't gotten a mailer yet.

Keep the info coming on this, keen to know more.

done, didn’t need the engine tested. I have a feeling most people will be in this group. Because FDRS pulls your engine data and probably sees X amount of hours and ranges and says yeah you’re good.
This is what I expected.

Does anyone have the documentation on the procedure? Probably lists the number of engine hours that won't require the stress test.

Everyone should get the notice by mail that the testing is available at dealer. Had mine several weeks ago but I'm not rushing into it.

This all makes sense in terms of trucks being over a certain number of miles/hours not being tested. My dad's truck is a 2021 with only ~14,000 miles (not sure of the hours), and they did test it. As an update, it seems to be running better at idle. I still don't like the test, but the idle may have been a result of fuel trim learning during the procedure.

I read along with advisors screen and it doesn’t specify… just mentions plugging in to FDRS and clicking start.

@flynavy glad to hear you have an extended warranty and didn’t undergo the flogging.
How many miles/hours does your engine have?
I am hoping to wait as long as possible before completing this recall. I’m at 40k now on a 2021.

I don’t have an extended warranty, I think I now get the 10 year 150k one for the engine though? I’ll have to check on hours but I’m at 57k on miles.

Just be careful, I understand this is safety related but there’s language on the recall that says something about after June of 2026 you won’t be eligible or something.

My assumption is that unless you’re a super super low mile/hour truck from 2021 you fall into the passed category but I’m just speculating.

Thanks! I was referring to you receiving the extended warranty on the engine after competition of the test. Hopefully I’m in the same boat. Going to research the timeframe of completion and schedule out as late a possible.

I care more about the extended warranty than the test itself. I suspect my 2021 has enough engine hours but I don't run it at 4k RPM either. I agree with Ford logic that if they were going to fail they should have failed by now but having the extra warranty is good for peace of mind.
