Figured I would make a nice little thread here detailing the recent addition of 2024 OEM LED Tail Lights to my 2022 502A Lariat.

So for my install, I had to swap the BLIS sensors and do a small BCM forscan change.

from what I’ve gathered these are more like the raptor tail lights from the 21-23 model year where the brake and turn are the same unlike stock OEM LEDs which had brake and turn separate.

726-43-02 x4x1 x1xx xxxx

also, these have the OBS (on board scale) capability which shows up where the reverse lights are

These are the only FORScan changes made to get these to work?

starting to think i miss the 21-23 tailights...wondering if i should switch back and get a set of BAP taillights...
I was not a fan of the taillights that came on my '23 XLT. They just looked out of place on a BAP truck. I waited for the '24s to be released, but I wasn't feeling those either. After many months of saying there is no way I am spending $1500 on a set of used taillights, I ended up purchasing a set off of a '22 Tremor. They required custom harnesses, swapping the BLIS sensors and some Forscan changes, but the truck now looks complete to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the 24’s but there’s things on the 21-23 I kinda miss.
I should get a set and switch from the BAP to the 24’s every few months haha
What do you miss?
The 2024 lights are not terrible looking. I am used to seeing them driving around now.

so i really like the side profile of the 24 LED's a lot. super bright and look great buttt i'm not a huge fan of the brake light as the turn signal. i didnt realize that until i got behind a 24. not only that, theres really not a BAP tail light anymore. they are all the same for 24's. theres a lot of red on the tail lights and the more and more i look at them, the less i like them haha

I miss the amber turn signal and separate brake light. I think the 21-23's BAP tails would look better after living with the 24's.

24's are too much red where as the 21-23 are clear which isnt bad b/c there isnt a lot of red.

Can I ask why you had to swap the BLIS sensors?

I too have 24 Raptor tails that I bought from CSS the same time as you (they came with BLIS modules) , and I'm now trying to get the BLIS to work on my 23 RCSB XL. I swapped to the BLIS taillight harness, but the truck won't recognize the BLIS modules.

Do the 24 modules not work for 21-23 trucks?
The 24 BLIS modules have to be programmed to the truck.

Don't all BLIS modules? Or is this something new for 24?
Unless it was just easier for him to swap his existing VIN programmed modules?

I guess I'm trying to determine if there's a difference between 24 modules and 21-23. Hardware? Firmware? Wiring?
I bought my truck out of state and got home to find one of the tail lights bad. I called the dealer, they said no problem, we will send you a new pair out of a new truck on the lot, you send yours back and we will warranty them to the truck we have.
I got the new lights and installed them, them promptly sent the others back without driving the truck.
When I did drive it, I had errors fro the BLIS system. I called them again and told them my problem, they asked if I swapped modules, my reply was no. They informed me the 2024 modules need to be programed to the truck unlike the 2023 back.
They sent me my modules from my original tail lights, I installed them and they worked perfectly.
That's all I know.

CSS told me he didn’t swap his BLIS modules when he went to the 24 LEDs but I immediately had errors after my install. Took them out and swapped in my 22 BLIS modules and haven’t had an issue.

I heard from Jesse that the firmware was different between the 21-23s and the 24s

it was super easy to swap my BLIS over though. Maybe 5 minutes

If you can open it in Forscan you might be able to use them if you write the VIN number. I'm not sure if that would work if firmware is different though. ?‍♂

I have a 22' Lariat with OBS, and I was thinking about grabbing these tails as I can get them for $850 right now, and the original style BAP tails are going for $1250.

I had my stock OEM full LED tails custom painted, but now I'm kinda over them.. decisions decisions..
