Can confirm that the drivers side catch can seems to collect virtually nothing. Passengers side does a very good job at collecting
this is correct. The driver side will only receive vapors when the engine is under boost.

Have a catch can kit you installed on your Powerboost?

If you look at the flow inside the crankcase, clean air enters on the drivers side, flows down thru the crankshaft area, and up the passenger side to the takeoff port, thence thru the catchcan and to the intake.

Good to know!

Both could be useful…..but passenger side is definitely the most important to run…… if I read that correctly?

Well. my take on it is that a dual setup is unnecessary. If you don't put a clean air inlet on both sides... why do a dual takeoff setup? So long as the catchcan setup can handle the expected flow of crankcase gasses, is a dual setup useful? ...And like I mentioned, if you don't have a clean air inlet on both sides, is it really any better? It's clear to me that the unit I have is doing its job for both cylinder banks, even if I do have tougher winters than many...

Do y’all have any specific protocols for catch cans in the winter months?

Check and drain them often.
In the northern states, quite a bit more “material” will collect. I’ve never seen any of the “engine cappuccino” freeze in north central Indiana. At the worst it has said to become more of a shush in more northern states.

I live in Wyoming where winters routinely get to below 0ºF. I've found that you need to drain the catchcan every 500 miles. There water in there and it slushes but have not seen it hard freeze. I have the standard J&L CatchCan, so its a 3 OZ volume.

I was going suggest 300-500, really depends on a few variables. Exact location or temperature, and mostly driving routine. Freeway vs state road, as in long vs short trips

I got my truck on 9/28/24, and Stage 3 had the Ford system on clearance for $375 so I installed. So easy, a few brackets then plug and play. The drivers side threw DTC code. So removed and cleared it via Forscan. Going to try again since the truck now has 2700 miles.

So what should those who have an electric valve on this tube do? Is it still impossible to install an oil separator?
Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

Next time you throw it back on. Try putting one of these on first and then add the Ford System catch can back on. Shouldn’t throw any codes afterwards. ?

I’m going to get seriously flamed by emotional and loyal believers for saying this but those catch cans are nothing more than a fad and a way for aftermarket companies to make a quick buck. ?These engines have two fuel injection systems and a little bit of water and fuel mixed with oil isn't going to do anything as it gets sent into the combustion chambers in such small quantities. ??‍♂
