Hey everyone

Would like to get my vin checked. Got a 2021 that hasn’t received OTA at all and want to see if anyone can tell me what’s going on or missing.
Recently had a new battery installed under warranty but still won’t receive updates.
Would like to update myself using the mongoose cable

Please remove your VINs from the original request.

Hi ? first post. I want to look up my Vin to check updates

So I just recently updated my screen from 8 to 12 but had to many bugs. So I decided to buy a new 12 Apim and install it. Everything is working great now. However the apim is on an old update and I never had it Pmi to my truck thru fdrs yet. I still have fordpass navi pretty much everything's working besides the connectivity settings . I checked the bezel diagram and everything's connected but when I open apim diag it's not showing any data as if it's not connected. So hence no connection for updates.
I do not have the knowledge to tell you how to fix this issue and the person who can help cannot help you due to a conflict of interest with his employer. DO NOT plug the truck in FDRS. If you do, it will force sync the data and you will create bigger problems. Your truck is reporting itself to the cloud and I see the new APIM serial number on Ford's side already, but I don't think the data in the new APIM itself has synced up yet. Ford is still showing Sync 23291.

Looking for OTA and FDRS updates. Just picked up a used 21 and think it's a bit behind

Thank you so much in advance. You're the man!
Pending updates are below. Your truck is on Sync 20301 which is bad news. Click the link in my signature about 2021 trucks not being able to turn on auto updates for more info.

I’ve been having a lot of battery issues and deep sleep issues lately, even after replacing my battery can someone check my VIN to see if I have any updates pending?
Your truck is on Sync 23031 and is fairly behind on updates. Battery charge was last reported at 90% and voltage at 14.5v, so I not sure what is causing that.

Your truck is on Sync 21223 which is very old software from 2021. Connectivity seems to be working fine, so I do not have a good reason for why this truck fell so far behind, but I know I added you to the Mongoose waiting list. In your case, doing the updates yourself is the way to go. Once you're up to date, the OTA process will do a good job of keeping you there. This truck doesn't have functioning Bluecruise from what I am looking at.

@guop Pending updates are below. Actual list is longer and you will need several APIM, GWM, TCU and IPC updates before you are up to date.

It's really not a big deal unless the truck is VERY out of date, so don't worry about it.
Thanks, is there a difference between what you use to look up vin vs FDRS? In FDRS It shows I have 3 modules to update one that i can't do and 2 that I've done a few times but they wouldn't come off the list when I was updating. I also am on sync version 23291 which I believe is a little behind.

No, I would see the same thing you see. The ACM does not come off the list and the BCM you cannot do without a dealer login. SO if those are the two you see, that's fine. If the third one you see is the PSCM, that one also does not come off the list.

If you are on Sync 23291 and no GWM is showing, it means Ford has not released the rest of the updates you need for your VIN yet. They will eventually, but for now, you are as updated as you can be. That is only one version behind the latest, so you are not terribly behind.

@rugedraw, I replaced the battery a few days ago. Is there any chance it will catch up on its own or something in forscan that I can do to get it to start taking updates again? Or will I need to get an FDRS account and a mongoose cable?

No, there is nothing you can do with FORScan or anything to speed up the OTA process. If you want to update it, FDRS is the only option.

Yes, those are the ones it shows me. The GWM is one i updated with FDRS a few months ago. I was hoping to get the BCM update OTA if thats even an option as i keep getting a code in the DSM for invalid response from BCM or something like that.
Thanks for your assistance!

The BCM will come OTA eventually, and it will not fix the DSM code. My truck is on the latest BCM and it has the same code. Causes the running boards to act up every now and then. There is no fix for that yet.....Ford has to fix the software.

Hi thanks for the response and help I greatly appreciate it. So if I'm understanding correctly I my apim is connected I just have to wait for it to catch up by itself? Also do not connect to FDRS until it's fully caught up?

No, that is not what I am saying at all. If anything, I would unplug the TCU before the truck syncs up with the servers and messes things up (if they aren't already). The server thinks your truck is on Sync 23291 and idk what Sync version is in the APIM you got, but it does not match what is on the server. I am saying don't plug it in to FDRS because you will speed up the process of things getting messed up.

Is the 8" APIM you have the original one that came with the truck?

Yes I still habe the original apim 8 Inch. I bought a new apim after that one wouldn't work with my new 12 inch screen. The new apim was all zeros in as built never used. The new apim is on Sync 4 20312 revision 243

Sync 20312 is broken software from 2020 known to break the OTA process. That is software from the 213th day of 2020.

As built is just config.....that is not the software. Flashing your config on to that APIM with software will 2020 will only change the config, but the old software will remain. I have seen countless people on the Facebook groups throw any APIM into their truck, flash the config and think everything is fine, but they have no idea the can of worms they are opening.

Again: Not many people have the knowledge to tell you what the right way to do this is. I know I don't. I would take that APIM tf out of that truck ASAP and put your old one back in. Reach out to a reputable company like Infotainment that will sell you an APIM programmed to your truck and offer support to make sure everything works as it should and you don't have problems in the future. Obviously getting an APIM from them will cost you more than what you paid for that I assume, but that APIM in your truck has software that countless of people on this forum have spent hundreds of dollars and weeks worth of time to get it updated.

Yes it’s a raptor I believe ford didn’t add bluecruise to them.

would the dealers be willing to take care of this under factory warranty at all?
