Maybe this has been covered before (a quick scan thru 2024 didn’t pickup anything), but was thinking about what I WISH was available on my truck.
Here goes! (Let’s not get TOO fired up or spicy, someone’s “need” can be another’s “not”, lol)

- side BLIS for below the window/eye LOS. There’s been more than a few times I’ve come CLOSE to swiping a confrère pillar or some other thing that was 1-2ft high and I either lost track of or didn’t see at all based on bright of vehicle. These things don’t exactly turn on a dime and there’s quite the blind spot, especially under the passenger door window.

- Auto Start/Stop “pause” button on steering wheel. My ASS was disabled (2022 year) but when I’ve had it in rental cars, I can understand the frustration. Especially when you’re waiting to turn left and you really don’t want that delay when crossing over. A button that can be held by thumb on the steering wheel might be a nice feature to disable in those situations.

- 4WS. Ok this one may not be felt by many (just visited Florida and man, are those parking lots spacious!) but in my town, parking lots are tighter and tighter. My nimble Honda Element struggles in most lots! I’ve read some raves of the older GM system and wouldn’t mind that as an option. I’m not hitting major off-road routes, so for me, it’d be nice for my daily driving.

Plug in hybrid with the 2.7L engine and propower.

But really I’d just be happy if the 500a package I got in 2022 came back, along with the door keypad. Barring that, I would like to see a choice of transfer case and front differential across the line, not restricted by trim. They aren’t exactly difficult parts to change between on the production line or anything (I mean, they already do it with rear diffs), it’s solely about market segmentation.

There’s a lot of things I would like on my truck but my number one wish for a new 2025 or possibly 2026 F150 would be to get a truck optioned as well or better than my 2021 and it’s sad that it’s come to this.

My XLT single cab truck is great but I wished it were available with all the options that the higher trims had like the aforementioned 4A transfer case, the steerable and self leveling LED headlights or the upfitter switches and a Torsen front differential; even if I never actually needed them, it’s cool to have but it’s definitely a nice feature in the rain on my Lincoln Navigator that has the 4A TC with front and rear LSDs. I think it would be cool to have the HUD and a Powerboost V8 would be nice.

My main concerns with simple things though is I wish the drive mode would stay where you left it after you turned the truck on. I would leave mine in Eco mode because I have a bit of a lead foot and I like the short shifts when I am trying to just dotter around in city traffic. I really would like it if the AS/S stayed in its last state too; or at least it didn’t turn the truck off with a cold engine. Then there’s the recirculate button which self cancels at random intervals, which is maddening where I live because in the winter we can have air quality worse than Beijing. There’s also useful features that I never use because there’s no physical button and it’s buried deep in menu options on the stupid touch screen like the automatic brake hold, which is pretty nice at stoplights but then absolutely sucks when it’s time to park.

Bringing back the HDPP and the XLT regular cab trucks along with certain driver assistance features like the lane centering is the only way I would replace my 2021 with a new truck. Otherwise it’s a downgrade if I get anything today.

The other messed up thing is that I would have considered an XL Powerboost in RWD as a second truck for driving family around in the city but that option doesn’t exist anymore either and a couple years ago was a good value.

4 wheel steering would be a major wish, although I have gotten pretty good at parking. A more responsive HVAC system would be wonderful as well as auto up/down on all windows.

Interesting topic! If I had to pick a single thing wish (other than a truck that was actually quality controlled), I would love to have full HDPP on PB vehicles. I know PB's are basically HDPP lite, but a more reliable payload # would be very welcome.

Heated wiper park. I’m not sure if it’s the design of cowl/hood/windshield angle but I’ve never had a vehicle who’s wipers ice up as much as this truck.

Fully manual mode for climate control.

I’m tired of turning off the A/C in the dead of winter, and it’d be lovely to coax the system into giving me warm air out of the dash vents when I want it.
I’d love it if the “temp” knob directly controlled the temperature of the air coming out of the vents instead of today’s system which tries to hit some mythical target for cabin temperature. Likewise, easier/better control of from where the air is coming.

A much tighter turning radius for a 4WD would be most welcome too. I rented a 2WD Expedition in Phoenix and the difference in turning radius was night and day.

My 4x4 rcsb seems to have a tight turning radius. I would be surprised if a 2wd had a turning radius much tighter. Of course, that's just my impression and is unscientific...
