I promise you the crappy payload numbers are not the only downside to owning a PB shit wagon. I've never had a vehicle in my life that had so many issues all the time. The mechanics at my location dealership know me so well they are on a first name basis with my children.
did you not look at the payload numbers before you bought the damn truck? If your truck is so bad, sell it, buy a Dodge deal with more bullshit.

I think they seem on parr with most modern half tons. It’s not my cup of tea, would not trade my V8 for one but have no reason to knock them. Now a hybrid V8 might get me thinking though.

The truck was bought new from the factory, so no luck on that. I was aware of payload constraints when I build the truck so I tried to option it accordingly, but I know my payload numbers are far better than some folks on here have posted. Still though......Also, 100% agree about other manufacturers, shit wagons are everywhere. I might have better luck just riding a bike.

Yes my powerboost has had more issues but they don't outweigh the generator, excellent creature comforts.
I have been a ford 3.5 fan boy. I have had issues with all 10 ford's I have owned. ALL my 3.5 have had the cam phasers replaced. No under warranty and all at 60k miles.

Fortunate for me i have a great service department that's 4 miles away and I have 4 other trucks to drive.
Ford's customer service has been awesome too.
My current powerboost suffers from multiple trailer brake module issues and heat exchanger swap.
The recalls are not an issue as my dealer takes care of them during oil changes.
This time I bought 100k 10year extended warranty from granger. I dont worry about the big things anymore.

The digital door key pad is what puts ford ahead for me. I have employees that drive my trucks and not having to worry about where the keys are is great and ford pass always show where my truck is.
I love ford's android auto and Google integration. There are features available through forscan that makes the truck even better.
I my truck hasn't been in the shop more than 4 days in 2 years.

All due respect to the NTSB….the payload numbers are a joke. I think mine is 1,341 pounds. Me and three friends go hunting and we make the taillights say “full!” before we get a pig or a deer.

Truck will handle much more, without caring.

I can fully appreciate being unhappy with having to go the the dealership a lot to have this or that fixed; however, I have not
I love my PB. (especially when the whole neighborhood is without power and my truck is powering my entire house) I had just one issue with the passenger-side tail light: the turn signal stayed on all the time. I got it replaced under warranty. Now at 57,000, with no other problems (so Far)
Same exact tail light issue with my 21 3.5 eco. After that, I really started to think about the reliability of the 3.5eco so much so I traded it on a 24 PB. ?

You may be correct about the bike.
I came from a Tacoma that was a POS death trap.

The onboard scales are the only option I regret not getting, though I've read about lots of problems with accuracy from a few people on here as well. Agree, payload numbers could easily be set conservatively. Still, I would have got the HDPP if they offered it on the PBs when I first built it even if the PBs are already sort of HDPP lite.

I’ve been through it with my PB more than most people, but I have a hard time agreeing with this post.

Powerboosts aren’t any more or less reliable than the rest of the Gen 14 F-150s, the issue is that the dealerships don’t have the expertise to fix problems unique to the PBs and it creates the illusion that they are less reliable.

Other than a few recalls that were common across most of the Gen 14 trucks ( this is also common with any new vehicle from any manufacturer, especially in the first couple years of a new gen) , I had 1 problem.

The issue is that 1 problem caused my truck to be in the shop for the majority of 9 months for dozens of different repairs until they made the correct repair to fix my problem.

Ford does have a problem with the PBs, but it’s not a reliability problem. It’s a perception problem. This problem needs to be fixed between Ford engineering and the technicians working on the trucks, not by re-engineering the vehicle.

Ha ha. Who needs scales. I look underneath and estimate the distance left from the axle to the frame bumper. If I see daylight I'm good to go. Lol

23 PB here and so far so good except the 12V battery under the hood and one time getting the aux transmission pump warning which looks like it has been rectified after sitting at the dealer for half a day! I refuse to change the battery so I connect it to the trickle charger every Sunday night.

Would the "junk tires it came with" be the Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT's? What improved with your replacement tires?
Nah, I had the Hankooks. They hit slushy snow and just about put me in the ditch. Not sure I've ever have tires perform that bad in winter. I ended up with Firestone Destination A/T2. They are snow rated, more agressive looking and do awesome in snow. Unfortunately, they are heavier and my mileage suffers but otherwise I haven't looked back. I used to put Goodyear tires on a previous truck and swore never again.

How many of those issues are PB specific? I see two from that short list. I too have a '22 PB and have not had 14 recalls, and the ones I did have had nothing to do with the hybrid system that I can remember. I'm no Ford or PB apologist, just seems weird when people throw out numbers like 14 recalls when 11-12 are likely F150 related and not the specific power train they're complaining about.
Bought a used 2023 Lariat Powerboost with 13K in August 2024. Had to return it in December 2024 as FORD could not fix the no start "Stop Safely Now" message. In the shop off and on for about 3 months. The dealer tried everything - it would work fine for a couple of days and the next time it would'nt start with the same error message. When it ran it was a very nice truck.

Just a guess, but once the service department has tried all the software updates and/or module replacements, and the issue still pops up, it begs to be a harness or connector problem. But for whatever reason, that task is avoided at almost all expense. Even buying back and auctioning off. So the next owner, with even less chance of having it solved now owns the problem.

Literally, a $70,000 vehicle can be destined for few miles ever being accomplished, because of a harness or connector fault. It's a real shame.
