They are gouging you. It just goes to pay the corporate people their multi million dollar salaries.

They're gouging the fuck out of people. Farley made 26.5 million dollars last year. You don't think that would change some profit margins if he doesn't make that?
Farley's salary, like most C-suite salaries, is way too high. It is also rounding error for the problem that we are discussing. Those are not mutually exclusive statements.

Some quick math: Ford sold 1.9 million vehicles in 2023. $26.5mn/1.9mn= ~$14/vehicle. $14 doesn't answer our question.

Then, what is the problem. Because it sure as hell doesn't cost $75k to make an XLT.

Ford should focus on decreasing volume and increasing price per vehicle.

Only the rich will be able to afford nice things, and that will be ok for companies because they will still be profitable with the larger margins.

The market will reverse once the Chinese start unloading tons of cheap vehicles to play the volume game.

Now you're asking the right questions. I honestly don't know the answers, but I have guesses.

meaning any individual who pays full price for a new vehicle is a bozo.
In some parts of the country, you don't just pay full price, you pay over.

I didn't., but it happens.

nobody is ever forced to sign off on paperwork ??
No, but they do it.

I paid MSRP, but I ordered it. I liked the price and the product, so I didn't have a problem with it. I also didn't want to drive 8 hours round-trip to Iowa.

hey that's great, i'm happy to hear that you're satisfied.
however what i cannot stand is when people thrash about sticker prices of a new vehicles.
these "outrageous" sticker prices CAN & ALWAYS be negotiated, yet nobody ever mentions so!

I wouldn't have paid the sticker on one sitting on the lot, but I wasn't going to ever find what I wanted on a lot. I've only ever seen 2 non order 4x4 RCSBs on a lot. 1 sold before I could go look at it 24 hours later and the other was a color I'd never want (white).

I have no complaints about my price. I got a lot of truck for $44k.

Don’t buy a base model 1LT corvette. The 2LT is the best bang for the buck and doesn’t have issues with the dash. I have a 3LT and love it, but the leather dash and door panels have been a known issue for years.

The biggest complaint I keep hearing and I agree with is they keep removing things. Just look at a fully loaded 22' lariat. Now compare that to a 25'. Taking in account the price as well. I've said this on another thread. My dealership has seen an uptick of people requesting certain used trucks. A guy will come in for example and want the bed camera. Well he doesn't want to pay a hundred grand for a truck so what does he do? He asks about a used one. There's a limit to what people will spend. I have always gotten the Lariats and Platinums. After my 23' fully loaded Lariat ordeal I'm now back in a 24' XLT. Do I miss some of the options? Yes. Am I going to go into debt for a heated steering wheel and bed camera? Hell No. Like many others I'll just attempt to add a few things to my truck. As years go on I'm sure people will figure it out on the newer vehicles.

And some laugh about the keypad. That is keeping some people from buying the newer trucks. I mean come on my 2019 XLT had the key pad and a heated steering wheel. Now okay my 24' has adaptive cruise control, led headlights, and the keypad but no heated steering wheel... I take.all this into account. So we're now going to remove what was once common options in lower level trucks. There's also an argument against purchasing the higher trim levels as well. I have adaptive cruise control which used to only be available in a Lariat and above. Another factor is if your payload conscious... as you go up in trim level you clearly lose payload. You couple that with the deleted keypad with what I understand is no more leather in the lariat??? Come on!! I'm in the building industry like I'm sure some of you guys are as well. People are tightening their wallets. Guys I know that you used to purchase $100,000 trucks every few years are driving the same truck since 22'. I feel as many I associate with they are now Ford is on a slippery slope.

And then I'll add what my service manager said the other day as they were replacing my 4x4 actuators on my 6000 mile truck... Add everything else with the increased issues with these newer vehicles. People want a new vehicle because it's dependable and less problematic. If you have to keep running back to the dealership for stupid things including excessive recalls new vehicles clearly lose that advantage. You have to say to yourself is it worth it? I'll be honest and you can cuss and swear at me all you want. When I hear someone talking about a 2025 I just laugh. To each their own. But not a chance in hell unless you gave it to me after what I've already been through with my 23' and now 24'. So this is isn't a personal attack on anyone this is my personal feelings after 30 years of owning Ford vehicles.

The six now five of us with 24's at my work could start a support group ?.

And let's not forget trucks were supposed to be a tool.

Edit: I know the keypad is an option
