Hi everyone,

I am curious to know from anyone who has extensive knowledge on pricing of extended warranties and maintenance plans that can be purchased through Granger when you order a truck from them.

Are they also discounted? Or is it their hope to sell those at mark-up to help recoup some costs of the truck being sold at a discount?

How much have these packages costed ya'll?

Thanks!

I didn't buy my truck through them, but they had the lowest price for the 8yr/100,000mi Premium Care package that I could find. I want to say it was ~$1,700 with the additional headlight and taillight coverage in early 2023. Make sure to go though their folks who post on this forum to get the best deal.

If you dont mind posting it, how much did that warranty cost? Please do not share if you do not want to. I am just trying to gauge roughly what it costs for budgetary purposes.

Thank you

Sweet. Thanks. I'll check that out.

I live in WA state, so if I opted to buy at a local dealer but didn't want to buy the warranty or maintenance plan at the time of purchase due to the cost of it. Does a person have the option to decline their offer and then buy the same plans/packages through a different dealer like Granger afterwards??

Yes, as I understand it many people buy their truck from a local dealer and then buy their warranty later.

https://www.floodfordesp.com/ also sells warranties online.

I buy my truck locally and purchase my extended warranty online through Flood Ford. I have done this for years and it will save you hundreds of dollars compared to buying your extended warranty at your local dealership at the time you purchase your new vehicle. Both Granger and Flood Ford show their prices online, so you can easily work the numbers (years/mileage/deductible) to see what works best for you and what you are willing to spend. I have used Flood Ford in the past for my warranties and the pricing was almost identical to Granger, so I stayed with Flood Ford. Good luck!

Get a Granger price at the Granger ESP website. Then when you purchase a vehicle you know what you can expect to pay. If you did not buy from Granger and sit through the high pressure sales for any of the extras (ESP) just keep saying no. Then when get home with the new vehicle go to Granger and buy the ESP that best fits your driving habits.

For example if you drive 20k miles a year do not buy a 10 year 100k mile ESP. Your driving miles will put you at 100k in 5 years so that 10 year plan was a lot of wasted money for the extra 5 years beyond your driving habits.

Unless you live in a state that prohibits sale / purchase of out-of-state ESPs (Florida and a few others that Granger will identify when you fill-out your location during the online quote process), you are always free to buy your vehicle local and your ESP separately from Granger (or Flood).

IMO there's no reason to not show your local dealer the Granger price quote and tell them you'll buy the identical Genuine Ford ESP from them IF they will match the price, otherwise they can 'skip the argument / sales pitch' and move on to close the vehicle transaction without an ESP.

Caveat Emptor: Ford dealers are allowed to sell, and many do sell, other than Genuine Ford ESPs. Be very careful to ensure that any ESP your dealer offers is, in fact, a Genuine Ford ESP identical to that sold by Granger (or Flood).

One caveat-if you live in Florida or California, the rules are different. Many years ago those two states passed legislation which requires (a) the warranties be considered insurance policies and be backed by separately capitalized entities (not a big deal as Ford warranties are backed by the Ford Credit Insurance Group; (b) warranties be sold by a Florida licensed dealership entity (of which only Ziegler holds a Florida license) and (c) must be sold at MSRP and cannot be discounted as an enticement (a really big deal).

In short - if you live in FL or CA your options are limited.

Thank you for that information. Fortunately I do not live in that dumpster fire state of California... and Unfortunately I do not live the beautiful state of Florida... so thankfully I will not be affected by those rules. But this is good info for anybody else it may apply to that stumbles upon this thread.

WHICH PLAN TO SELECT??

Looking to all of our Ford experts in here. I will soon have a 2025 Plat PB 702A that I ordered from a semi local dealership. I will be purchasing an ESP from Granger after I take delivery (unless the dealership will match the offer at the time of sale).

Im looking for opinions from folks with experience in choosing the right plan. My default thought is to just buy the best one, The Premium Care Extended Warranty Plan. I do not drive a ton of miles so I will structure the decision for longer years and around 10k miles a year.

I guess i'm wondering if it is necessary to go with the Premium Care option? Is EVERYTHING covered within that?? Hybrid battery/system and all???

- Is the regular battery covered at all? As I know I will most likely have to replace that to fix the electrical gremlins that will undoubtedly arise.

Anything else we should know before choosing a plan? Any and all guidance will be very much appreciated.

Thanks!!
