I'm calling a few top rated local dealers today.
See if can match or come close.
Good advice.
Appreciated

I just returned from Granger, flew in on Tuesday and made AZ on Thursday (1,400 miles). Chip and Shelby are genuinely good people, Shelby even found me an additional $2,000 in saving that she didn't have to tell me about and not all dealers would. They were $6,000 to $12,000 less than any dealer in the Phoenix area for the exact same build. This is a no brainer.

I bought 2 vehicles from Granger. For the first, I flew in first thing in the morning from MD, picked up on the same day and stayed the night in Ohio on the way home. I think it cost about $600 total.
The second was a Bronco and I had it shipped for about $1000.

Another happy Granger customer here....though I'm quite a bit closer to them than you.

I ordered/bought a 2023 Tremor V8. I'm near Chicago, and the Granger price at the time was 3% under invoice, which saved me about $7k from MSRP. At the time, all but one dealer around me wanted over MSRP, with the one dealer saying they would do MSRP. It was a no brainer for me, $7k savings, for like a $400 Southwest flight. I flew out in the AM, and drove back, no hotel needed...one tank of gas, and one lunch. Would do it again.

For you, I would look into having it shipped. Given your distance...with airfare, and probably at least 1 hotel, etc., shipping might be the way to go. That's what my buddy did even though he lives near me.

I guess it depends on the miles that are put on the truck right away. In my case about 1,400, and if calculated at 50 cents per mile is $700 off the top. Otherwise, gas, food, lodging and a one-way airfare ran me about $600. So, $1,100 including the mileage, or $600 if not, is still less than the $1,500 quote that I got to ship it. Besides it was nice to go over the truck at the dealership and meet some good people in the process.

$600 for gas, food, lodging and a plan ticket is a GREAT deal. $1500 seems high for shipping. You need to put your shopping around skills towards those shipping quotes.

But to each their own. I too liked the drive back. Gave me plenty of time to mess around with the truck and get to know a lot. One downside was that I would have preferred my break in miles to be a bit more of a blend of highway non-highway, versus all highway for the first 3xx miles or whatever it was.

And finally, I did have some reservation about some rando strapping my brand new truck down and delivering it to me. That made be a bit nervous. And if you have ever shipped vehicles, you know what I am talking about.

That is why I vet transport companies through my day job so that I can then use them for personal moves if I ever need them. I have my preferred vendor, but definitely need to shop around for best cost.
