I never saw anything until it started updating. ?‍♂
My other USB I use for music will show indexing sometimes but it won't do it every start. I think truck remembers the USB. ?
a distinct possibility if the contents haven't changed... assuming SUNC4 has the smarts ?‍♂?

''Typo or no typo? You decide ?

Even my old 2011 wouldn't bother indexing every time. No reason to if the drive is the same.

I also have the USB Error 0 when trying to update APIM. I tried several time, on three different USB sticks (GB 8, 16, 32) with drive name "sync", formatted both FAT and exFAT but not the slow format. I spent several hours trying to make it work but failed every time after about 5 mins of updating with the USB. I've done USB updates before and the worked. I took a lot of notes while executing all of this - and did go through the USB update process first without deleting voice, then with deleting voice first. Voice was deleted but the APIM update failed. I have carplay with siri, so have the voice control I need.

My Sync version is 23291_PRODUCT, Revision 1049.

The same day I could not do APIM I did everything else except for BCM (not allowed) and like others my ACM worked but did not clear. I ran it several times just in case I was up against some kind of stacked updates.

APIM failed about 9 times. Each time the USB process went smoothly and the update carried on for about 5 minutes, then failed. During the melee, I redownloaded the APIM update just in case something was corrupted.

I'll try again sometime, with slow format USB and maybe a different storage device.

Here are some screenshots from that very unfun day.

You’re making it a lot farther than me. Mine will not even start the update. I get USB Error immediately on engine start. Has to be something with our USB drives I guess

If I remember correctly, the USB 0 error code has to do with a bad battery. Maybe @Jesse-Infotainment can chime in and confirm since my memory is not my best asset.

I do have the OEM H6 battery in my truck still. It is finally cold in Colorado and it didn’t really like starting this morning in 25 degree temps. Time for a new one I guess.

It means they don't know what they're talking about. Without FDRS, all 21-23 F150's have BC 1.0. If you have all the ADAS modules fully updates with FDRS, then FORScan can be used to enable new BC features like lane change assist. The updates needed for the IPMA/PSCM are not being sent OTA to any vehicle other than 22-23 Mach E's at this time.
Thanks!

Thanks @rugedraw!

i have the original battery and have placed it on charger from time to time. While doing updates I was in PS mode using my charger… wouldn’t that have worked around a weak battery?

No, the PS only ensures voltage is high. If USB error 0 is the battery error, then just having a PS will not suffice. The way the truck measures the battery stats is multifaceted. It looks for voltage, charge level, capacity and BMS data quality. If either of those factors are below par, it can cause issues.

I wonder if these members connected the charger/powersupply to the negative battery post and not before the shunt on a chassis gnd point.

Good point. I would be interested in hearing replies as to how the chargers were connected.

I had my ground connected to the ground strap on the body by the headlight and the positive on the battery. My battery was the oem H6 battery so I tossed in a H8 because why not.
