Programming third key fob

I have two working fobs for my ‘23 Lariat Powerboost. I am familiar with programming a third fob from my previous Super Duties and have attempted to follow the instructions online for the F150–but it doesn’t work. I place a programmed fob in the slot beneath the cup holder. Turn ignition on accessory until ringing stops. Turn off car. Then repeat with second programmed fob. Then repeat with third unprogrammed fob and it’s suppose to say program successful but it never works. Is the Powerboost different? Any help would be appreciated. Having a third set means I never have to pay the high cost at the dealer to program one if I lose one. I can program a replacement myself—if it will work.

Less than 30 seconds. Like 3 dings from dash.

You'll see the door master code on dash when you have the two fobs successfully recognized.
Then do the third same way.

It took me several tries to get it but once you see the keypad code you have the timing correct.

Got it!! I did the same thing a number of times, but it finally worked!! Timing is very important apparently.

Does anyone know if this process will work with a 2024? I talked to someone from one of the online aftermarket key fob sellers, and they said it has to be programmed by a locksmith or the dealer.

Let me ask this, where did you get the third key fob from?

On my grand daughters fusion
I got one from ford..omg pricey
I tried one from ebay motors..could never get it to work
Not sure why.

One from ford was bingo bingo done
Now I have a repo fob ???
I have moved her car a few times while she is at work

Programming the fob is one thing, but how did you get the physical key cut? The one that slides into the end of the fob?

I got mine cut at the dealer, but they had to update the mill to work with the new key. I bet there are a few private shops that can do that cut, but it’s very expensive for them to have the mill.

I used these guys and it works great. As others have stated the timing is critical. Have everything laid out for easy reach and memorize the steps. Speed is the key.

I did not get my 3rd key cut and I only have it programed. I use this key to give to the shop for work.

They also make a nice rubber sleave with different colors for the fobs so I know what key is what.

I used these guys too and had good results with extra fobs for both my '21 F150 and '18 MKZ. I found a local locksmith to cut the entry key.
