It's probably widely known but when I picked up my truck 3 years and 2 months ago I had already decided to buy an esp (first time I had done this). I had already got price from Ziegler. Finance guy said he'd match the price. I said sure and was on my way. My fault for not asking but thought I'd share.

3rd party is money maker for dealers
Just like the "lifetime warranty " bull
You have to do all scheduled service with them, not at home etc.
Read thier fine print

I have owned ford's since 1988
Nothing beats ford esp. .
I did once use a 3rd party, I was stupid.
And changed my mind in 90 days

I always use Ford ESP. No issues at all. A good warranty is extremely important now a days. Especially with all of Fords quality issues.

Everything a dealer is trying to sell you outside of the vehicle often has 100%+ margin. Those shitty OBD2 GPS units aren't even $100 for the unit + 1yr service. The magic interior / exterior protection packages often have nothing done to them, it's just $800+ right into their pocket. Southeastern toyota is notorious for adding up to 10% of sticker in 100% of pure nonsense. $80 for a $2 USB C cord, or $200+ for 3 of them. Their $800 paint protection package is a 16oz bottle of a petroleum based paint cleaner.

What's funny is on the recent F150 purchase the dealer said ford ESP was "cost + $1" and quoted 20% higher than granger's. Far too many people cave in with soo much of the nonsense and pay for trash. It really makes those of us who don't settle for such things purchasing a little more difficult. Dealers just get used to taking advantage of people pulling fast ones with nonsense sales tactics/pressure/cramming and hate being told NO.

Case in point here on a corolla - USB cable and a $30 screen protector. Cheapest I've seen southeast toyota's options. Last year it was $2200 in nonsense. Given the market, the dealer's "no nonsense price" has discounted the car down to factory sticker price. What a bargain in today's market :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Did you only discover this on your paperwork recently? The devil hides his misdeeds in the details. The only thing I ever look at is the terms sheet listing everything you're getting and its cost.

Did they lead you to believe it was the ford warranty? Did they hand you anything at the time to make you believe that's what you were buying? Might consider filing a BBB report against them if they even remotely hinted that you were getting a ford ESP.

Honestly I blame myself. I had never bought an esp, shit this my first order ever. I only posted this so someone else doesn't make same mistake. I'll relook at my paperwork but I'm sure there's nothing. Actually going in to the same dealership tomorrow for service on 2023 Bronco Sport - which I did buy an esp through granger after the sale

Thats not always true. Some of the more reputable dealerships will buy a $10 can of Scotchgard spray and spray your seats and rugs with that. So it really is only $790 right in their pockets. :)

Thought I needed to that before 3 years was up?
You can get an ESP after the 3 year mark. I'm sure you've already checked your 3rd party paperwork, but it may be worth seeing if you can cancel and recoup some money back. If they do, it'd be pro rated and not the full amount. Some is better than none.

If you are under 44K miles, you don't need an inspection. I put a warranty on a truck with 52K miles and needed an inspection.
