Just bear in mind this forum is a very small sampling of the thousands of F150s Ford sells. And (no offense to those that had issues and posted) you don't usually see a lot of "I don't have a single complaint about my truck" posts. Yes, there are people that have had issues big and small...but there are 1000s more that haven't seen a reason to post. I've owned 3 Ford trucks (2 PBs) and, while not a "fanboy" by any means, I've not experienced any major issues.
Fair enough. I think for me I thought with the 23' once I traded it in my problems would go away. I'm not that naive, but It was on the drive home with my new truck and my dashboard lit up......I was like okay, I think Ford has an issue. Yes nobody usually comes on here and raves about everything working on their truck ?

Hmm after reading all the issues that both of you are experiencing it made me worry to get a ford truck. Maybe I should look into 2021 Tundra V8. Debating now. Lol bit them Toyota has no 0%-1.99% interest promo like never.
At the end of the day, my actual "issues" have been minimal and the bulk of the problem have mostly boiled down to the dealer. No one is immune from problems and Toyota is dealing with the engine recall on the Tundra right now. You rarely hear about the people who don't have any issues.

Alright, I will chime in to say I am one of the few in this forum that has a pretty much problem free truck. It's a 21 job 1 Platinum with 32,000 miles. I did have to have a front pinion seal replaced, but other than the recalls, that's it. I have to say that between this truck and my last Volvo wagon, these have been my best vehicles. I feel for people that have poor experiences with both their vehicles and their dealer. I will also say that my dealer is top notch as well.

I hate to hear anyone else going through this, but it also comforts me that I'm not the only one. Sometimes at the dealership I almost felt singled out like I was the problem. Every single problem that I had was easily diagnosed or seen.
Yeah, the second dealer ended up being great but when I first made the appointment they were very standoffish and adamant about there being a $170 diagnostic fee PER issue if it wasn't under warranty so I was ready for a fight but ended up good.

It is amazing how much of a difference a dealer makes in the experience. I try and be understanding when there's an issue, when you produce hundreds of thousands of vehicles each with 10's of thousands of individual pieces there's going to be issues, it's all about how it's handled.

Hopefully you have better luck with this truck.

I agree 100%. I changed dealerships because I was given more for my trade in. Once the service started going to hell I regretted it. I went back to my original dealer and like I knew they would they took great care of me. I actually didn't give them an opportunity to service the 23' because I figured they want nothing to do with it. After they ran the Carfax on my 23' they were generous enough to find a wholesaler or somebody to sell it to. Like yourself all worked out well. I have no doubt that my current dealership will take care of these issues. They gave me such a good deal on my 24' Live and learn unfortunately.

If you want to get rid of a relatively new vehicle, try Carvana. They generally pay far more that a dealer will give you trade in- but you do lose any sales tax that you would get on a trade. I always get a buy figure from Carvana just so I have a bargaining figure when I go to a dealer.
Right now, I'm even with what I paid for my 23 STX back in April. But that probably won't last since rebates and discounts are going up not down. Used trucks are also harder to sell due to interest rates being much higher on used vehicles. Dealers want to own them much cheaper since it all comes down to the monthly payment for most people.
The local Dodge dealer is already discounting their 25 RAMs 10k, and those are really sweet trucks with the new engine. I think Ford is in some trouble with all the 23's left over- or at least the dealers are.

This depends on the state, where I am if you buy a new car within 90 days you can fill out a form and the DMV will refund the sales tax on the traded vehicle. They do it so people can get the best deal possible and don't feel forced to trade in with the dealer. Of course the dealer will still straight up lie to you and say you lose the sales tax so you should just take their lesser offer since you come out ahead with them.

Is the new 2024 you're looking at 20% off? Because a smart buyer can get 20% off and you can't base your 20k lost on the MSRP no one should be paying.

Right now you can get close to 10k off an XLT. I can't see any dealer going that low

I’m about $8-10k CDN off a 2024 Lariat. About 10-12%…

But lease rates are 2.99-3.99%
And 7 year finance at 1.99… goes lower if you shorten the term. 6 yr is 0.99 and 5 years is 0%.

I noticed use 2023 Lariat with 11k mileage is about $20k less than brand new 2024 Lariat in Canada. Is this normal for F150 to lose this much of value in one year??
You tell me. Refresh, used, mileage, funnymoney. You dont buy tools for the resale value.

I'm not sure the math adds up at even 20k depreciation. The 23 Lariats can be had for at least 13k off new with 1.9% financing for 72m. For a vehicle with a $74k MSRP the new one will cost $54500 in real terms with 13k off and amortized over 72m making a 3.3% spread from the risk free rate of return of 5.2%. The used one will cost $57300 in real terms with 20k off amortized over 72m paying the 2% spread between the risk free rate of return and the prevailing 7.2% financing rate. If we further discount the 11k miles at say $0.10/mile that is an extra $1000 in value that is gone. So the used vehicle should really be priced closer to $24k off to compete with the new vehicle in today's market and that's being generous with the 7.2% financing rate and mileage depreciation for a used vehicle.

Which Canadian dealer?
toronto price should be much better than that. i had seen a few inventory at over $16k off msrp.. tho that’s cash price.. they dont bother with lease deals unless you want to factory order which can be had at even higher discount, with long wait time
